Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

I wonder if like the start of the season pep will drop silva a bit deeper? silva and yaya deeper with kev in front, nolito left and sterling right side like at the start of the season?
That's what I'm hoping. We looked far more balanced then anyway. Just a huge miss with Dinho suspended for Sunday.

I hope not, can't rely on a raw kid or a fading star who only plays well when he can be arsed.

We're already struggling, we need more quality in midfield even before Gundogan got injured. Fernando is shite. Jack Wilshere would be a decent signing, or Eric Dier.

So we don't want fading stars who only play well when they can be arsed?
And we would prefer someone who has lower injury frequency than Gundogen?

Yeah, Jack Wilshere has to be the man, absolutely...

Absolutely gutted for the lad, seems a really nice person off the field too. Sadly, there was big question marks about his injury history when signing him and if this is the same knee, there could be on-going issues/weakness in that area. Some saw this as a risky signing at the time of signing, maybe they were right. Get well soon!

Any reports on which ligament he's done? If it's medial or lateral even the worse grade tears are about 8-10 weeks.

If it's his ACL it's at least 6 months but, having done both of mine, I'd be absolutely staggered if he's done that given he played on for 5 minutes afterwards. The pain is quite severe, and running around, even at half pace would be extremely difficult, I could barely limp never mind jog.

It's often Medial tears can damage the ACL as well though.

Awful news. I hate to see any player injured, even slightly, so when it's a major setback, as this appears to be, it's doubly sad. I wish Ilkay a speedy recovery.

And with Dinho still out, it's time for Nando to step up. A repeat of his performance against Barcelona is exactly what we need on Sunday.

Hopefully it's only MCL injury but not ACL so he could be back in 2 months. Gutted for him as it's the same knee he injured last summer (is it?) and he's just beginning to settle in the team. I think we're a better team with him in the side, and the more he's integrated the better we'll get, despite the apparent imbalance with 4 midfielders. While Fernando did a great job when he came on, Ilkay seemed to give us better control. Get well soon, Ilkay.

I don't understand why he didn't come off when he went down first time, that is the hope I'm clinging to that it may not be as bad as it seems, playing on a while longer I mean,we will know today no doubt, lets hope it is good news

It was an absolutely shocking tackle too. Amrabat was nowhere near the ball and simply hacked Gundogan to the floor. Such a shame, but it's looking again piss poor that we only signed one CM this summer.

It was nothing of the sort, in fact he barely touched him. What caused the damage was Gundogan planting his right foot and getting bumped at the exact same moment, so that the knee joint twisted slightly inside to out. Shit luck for sure, but shocking tackle, no way.
What is a potential worry now, in addition to how long the lad might be out, is that there's nothing to stop Ya Ya pissing off in January and leaving us really, really short of options.
