What he does is exactly what Pep wants, to drive forward quickly in possession of the ball, he was just about to pass it, close to the penalty area when he was assaulted, you can't be blaming the player for doing his job, blame the thug who knew exactly what he was doing, and the incompetent Jones for not doing his job, it was just as much a red as Mane was, in fact worse because it could be argued Mane wasn't intentional, this was premeditated.

I'm in no way blaming Gundogan i was just saying I thought he could have passed sooner & Yacob might not have crushed him. Only Yacob & the ref are to blame not Gundogan.

Gundagon ran from half way inside his own half all the way to the edge of their box and was definitely in danger territory. Their player did the right thing. He brought him down before he got into the box knowing (according to the rules) he would get a yellow card. Can't see the fuss. Yes he may have been injured but their player was thinking merely about stopping a good goal scoring opportunity and I can not believe had any other thought at the time. I doubt he even gave any thought to "oh that's Gundagon and he is just back from injury". I think people are reading too much into this

Bit of a difference between a tap of the ankle professional foul and a full on dangerous scissor tackle from behind though? Both could injure but the latter is much more malicious. Most people are reading this the right way but I appreciate the few have a different view.

He'd either be to slow, or miss the man he was trying to hack then catch one of his team mates.
He'd probably be shit at that as well.
I wouldnt have fancied Yacob's chances if Mendy (Or Ota) had been on the field, I dont think he'd have thought twice about any punishment the powers that be might impose, before exacting severe retriibution
