About to say the same thing. The club are powerless as the don’t breech copyright of club images and they are not being sold on land owned by the council / leased by the club.

Clearly there is a market for them otherwise the sellers would not be there.
 
Football tourism is a thing and it's not going away. I bet there's a few on here who been to a foreign game. It brings with it some issues. Fans who wear half and half's with their phones out all game. Not all but we see these characters, cheering every goal for either side.

I'd want the club to make a section just for these characters. We all know the club are making money of ticket exchanges. Just try and put these people out of sight (and harm).
 
Personally wouldn't touch with a barge poll and seeing them on derby day is abhorrent. But tourists seem to love them - and it might be the one and only game they ever go to and want a reminder of that match (ditto kids going to their first game). I wouldn't ban them but I sure as f##k wouldn't wear one.

It’s that they are so blase about having rivals’ name and colours around their necks that’s the issue. That anyone would do that means they don’t understand football culture and aren’t that much of a fan of City.

Plus with the amount holding the ‘LIVERPOOL’ red+white half up for pictures after they beat us last season, shows it’s a problem that fans of the opposition are sitting in the home stands quite readily.

In the stadium they can though, if you can't get in the home end with an away shirt on then the scarf is the same surely?
 
People attend premier league games for many different reasons.

If I'd travelled half way across the country, continent or world to see a sporting event I would like a momento.

Some on here need to understand what a global brand the PL is and what it means for some to be able to attend. Wearing a half and half doesn't make them an enemy.

Yeah, I got a Barcelona one for my son the first time we played them in the Champions League… at the time I still couldn’t believe we were there, and fully expected it all to come crashing down, so thought what the hell, we’ll never play them again.
Never bought another after that though.

The global football visitors to Europe and South America need to understand what football culture is about.

Just because we’re an island of complete softies these days doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t rub people up the wrong way like it would do in Argentina. I wouldn’t dream of going to Buenos Aires and wearing a half’n’half River:Boca scarf; I’d expect that I’d be mugged of my phone and wallet, stripped naked and beaten up to be left in a gutter outside the ground somewhere.

Not bothered personally, wouldn't buy one myself but I'm against banning something as harmless as this in a world where there's always somebody trying to get something or other banned.
 
See the appeal for CL games anyone buying one for a Premier League game wants flaying alive and chucking in a bucket of rocksalt. I'm well up for disrupting the stalls that sell them aswell all of them are dirty rag bastards.

That is one stop short of complete yank compliance and being a customer not a fan. Legacy fans shouldn't understand we are a global brand because we were here when we were shit.

So yes slagging off half and half scarves is perfectly acceptable.
