A couple of questions that I recommend my children ask before passing comment...who is it hurting? and/or what's it got to do with you?
I'm not sure that I agree with the suggestion that the security services become confused by the sight of a nine-year old wearing a half and half scarf and immediately leaping to the conclusion that trouble is brewing.
And, let's be honest, whatever the age of the wearer, a half and half scarf is hardly an integral part of the desperado hooligans winter wardrobe, they are mainly worn by children having fun and tourists looking for a cheap souvenir to take home.
Not hurting anyone, don't think I suggested otherwise.
I suppose what it's got to do with me is a massive dislike of growing tourists at games wearing opposition colours who don't support the team or understand what it means to follow a football club. I think most fans would take the same side, as the poll here suggests. Very happy to see a club like West Ham take a stand against something massively disliked and ridiculed by the football community. Buy them a City scarf instead that they will, as noted above, treasure for life :)
