Half & Half Scarves

I was in my seat early yesterday and about half hour before kickoff I saw one guy having his picture taken , near the front row, holding up one of these scarves. Trouble is he had it folded so only the red half could be seen. My blood was boiling. Probably for the best that I was in 2nd tier

As an exiled Mancunian in China, I do spread the word to all travelling fans that half and half flags, shirts etc are not acceptable. I point that if they want a game memento, Mary D's do match badges - and a programme is perfect. I ever say take 90 mins of photos, if you need but, never, and I mean never in the strongest terms wear a half and half scarf. In simpler terms, would you put a Japan flag alongside a China flag and walk around Beijing? Their usual reply is pretty much telling me to jog on and jerk my movements back to England. To which, I reply, THAT, that is how we view half and half scarves in Manchester. Outside of Manchester, in Old Trafford it may be accepted as normal but Manchester is and always has been a very tolerant and open city, but these half-hearted, half-meaning scarves are unwelcome.

So to my fellow Blue Mooners, when you find an overseas fans, be welcoming, find out where they have come from - quickly call on Dr Google and Professor Wiki - and whammy, hit them with sound reasoning and a proper excuse. Oh, and make sure they never lift their tainted scarf up. Bag it. Bin it. Kick it out.

Good idea. Not many to be seen yesterday fortunately. Most are seen at European games, hence why our atmosphere for European games has been shit.
The atmosphere is shit at European matches because some people such as my 12 year old lad has a scarf on?

I always thought it was more to do with people not being arsed to make a noise and booing almost as soon as the teams come out.

Such as a few thousand tourists that take up the seats of regular match goers who stay away. Every European game there are different faces around me, plenty of half and half scarves on show, hence the drop off in atmosphere for European games.

Drunk guy next to us was telling the foreign fans off about the scarves all game. Tbf, I think it's pretty normal on Europe and around the world so that's who they cater for
Only question to that is how /why foreign fans got them when liads of blues were without

City release loads of tickets that can be bought from foreign ticket agencies and travel operators.

They’re not arsed at all if proper Blues miss out.
