Halifax...shudder

They played Lancaster City a few weeks ago, brought a good few fans with them. Game had to be stopped and players taken off while both sets of fans decided to have a mass brawl. Mass and hooliganism are two words which haven't been used in match reports before while covering a Lancaster City game !
 
Too young for the 1980 debacle but remember watching us pre season there when Keggy Keegan was in charge. Think we won 2-0? Could be wrong.

2-1 Horlock and Huckerby , we we getting beat until near he end. Keegan's first City game of any sort
 
I was there . the pitch looked like a plowed field , before the kick off , which was worrying , i think they had i Speedway track around the outside as well , ......." where were you when you was shit"?.........at the fucking game ! ......Shrewsbury as well Paul & Ron Futcher spring to mind !!!
 
Remember that day well. I was about 12 years old and didn't go to the game but listened to it on the radio. After the result I was so upset I walked out of the house and just wandered up the road. Mum found me 2 miles later walking aimlessly up this hill still very upset. That was one of the lowest points in my City supporting life. I couldn't believe we lost to Halifax, little did I know there would be similar results ahead.

Leed were at home in the cup - which might of had something to do with it.
There was a bid brawl at the halifax train station, with a load of leeds fans who were on the other platform when our train got in.
 
My first ever FA Cup match aged 16.....
I remember most about at the end of the game, came out of the side paddock and turned right to head for the coaches and all City fans were charging left down the hill to get at Halifax (think there was a Leeds mob there too) with police horses and sirend going off all over the place....

and dont forget, we lost to Shrewsbury the previous year!!
