Hamburg Hotels

Just looking at booking a hotel for Hamburg. I take it the Reeperbaun is the place to stay but it looks like quite a big area with budget hotels at either end. For those that have been before is it better to stay at the St Pauli station/city center end or the Reeprbaun station/Altona end - or does it not really matter?

if you really want to stay around the reeperbahn area it doesn't matter which end you stay at,st pauli end is nearer to the centre (Alster lake,shops,Rathaus)

check this out, dont know your budget but the holiday inn @ £78 is good but have a look should not find any cheaper hotels than this site

Were staying in the hamburg central bout 20 quid each and a mile away from reeper bahn. Best way I think, away from the really busy bit. Even I can stagger back 1 mile!

I think we'll go for the Ibis behind St Pauli station.

It does not really matter.

The IBIS (Simon-von-Utrecht-Straße, near St. Pauli station) is a good choice. There´s a ETAP hotel just beside the IBIS.

St. Georg (Central Station) is junkie and muslim area. I would NEVER recommend this place to visitors.

Good district. Safe and clean. Walking distance to the main spots like St. Pauli district/Reeperbahn, harbour, Landungsbrücken, St. Michaelis church (Michel), city centre, Rathaus, Alster lake etc.
