Is he good enough now for a team challenging the top four? Undoubtedly No
Is he going to get get good enough for a team challenging the top four? Very probably not, in my opinion.

Is having him around unhappy on a good contract taking reserve team positions our Academy lads could be fighting for a good thing? Not in my opinion either.

Therefore, thanks for the effort and the goals, big man, hope you have a good career. But we're moving on.

I'm sorry mate but judging this type of player at 20 is just not on. Didier Drogba from ages 20-23 scored 11 goals in 62 games in French division 2, John Carew scored 19 goals in 43 in the Danish league, Ibrahimovic scored 16 goals in 40 in the Swedish ;league.

So going by that we can't rule him out yet, but he has a better ratio 8 in 14 in a much harder division. Personally I wouldn't let him go until he was 25ish and not showing much, these players peak very late and it looks like Big Phil is showing a lot know, so hopefully he won't peak and will keep improving because if he does we will have something very special.

Disclaimer: I know it isn't nailed on that he will turn out good but why not take the chance.

I think we are being very generous with these 8 in 14 stats, i.e. lots of sub appearences. I take you point about his age, I didn't realise he was that young.

He came from right at the back of all the forwards we had at the Club to nail down a place in the side last season. He has time on his side and could possibly become a true star of the Game. Better attitude than Jo and Sturridge, more quality than Ched Evans and healthier than Bojinov. all this with a decent goals to game ratio.

Why on earth would we want to sell or even lend him to a team like West Ham??

I think he should stay, I feel we have another goat in the making and it took him years to be practiced in the art of scoring without looking good!
