A hangover prevention pill that claims to give users a clear head the morning after a night out by rapidly breaking down alcohol in the body has gone on sale in Britain.

Håkan Magnusson, CEO at Myrkl, says his product is the first pre-drinking hangover pill ever to reach the market.“We are very excited to be launching this ground-breaking product in the UK and in most European markets”

The Swedish-made Myrkl supplement claims to reduce alcohol concentration in the blood by half within 30 minutes of having a drink.

All the ingredients,the manufacturer says, are safe for consumption and have approval from food standards agencies. The tablets are not classed as medicine and therefore do not need approval from the MHRA

The Myrkl supplement can be purchased online,with 30 capsules costing £30,and two pills needed to be taken an hour before drinking for maximum effect.It keeps breaking down alcohol in one’s system for up to 12 hours,scientists say

Years ago I went on holiday and a GP was in the group. She said if she got pissed, she went into her surgery half an hour earlier than normal and put herself on a drip.
