Years ago teams like us back then would only sign someone as good as Silva in their twilight years as footballers ..and they'd be huge assets.

That we've had him so long has been great. Hope his last years at the top are just as great. (I'd say the same for Yaya btw - we've been so lucky to have them for so long).

Ya but other teams in midtable used to pick up some great players too. Campo for example - although I can't remember what age he was when he joined Bolton. It was a big gamble and it used to seem to me that how those players would do often determined how the midtable team did. I guess you could point to WestHam's Payet today to see the tradition continue.

I'm an older fan and Colin Bell was an immense talent but Silva is my all time favourite now. I just love watching him play football with his unique style....it's a joy to watch him weave his magic. I am actually dreading the day he eventually leaves us....the flags at City will have to be lowered on that terrible day....haha!!!
