Happy Birthday Sir Joe

Genial joe always had a smile on his face, city played some fantastic football when he and big mal took over, real shame he didn't stay longer, happy birthday Joe will always be remembered as a truly nice guy.

Wonder if they'll mention him at the game tomorrow as he played 275 times for Arsenal as well as managing us.

I was 15 back in 1990 when Joe passed away and I can still remember how upset my Dad looked when I broke the news to him as he returned from work. You don't see many interviews with Joe from the past but the ones you do show's what a great fella he must have been. I love the one on the touchline at Wembley just after Neil Young has scored in the Cup Final.

Today is the 100th anniversary of our most decorated manager's birth.

It's also exactly 24 years since the great man died.

He was in charge when I started following City and I've always had the greatest admiration for him. He was the first man to win both the First Division and FA Cup as a player and a manager.

The way he was treated by Swales and the-then new board was nothing short of disgusting.

R. I. P. Joe and Happy Birthday.

This.

1938 -39 won the league with Everton.

1947 -48 won the league with Arsenal. The FA Cup a couple of years later.

He will certainly get a massive cheer from both sets of fans when his name gets mentioned tomorrow.
