Happy Clapper = Someone who even if City lost to Bispham Tram Maintenance Division B Team (which arguably we could atm), they would still be overly positive and tell everyone we should remember where we were in 1999.

Almost every cock-up today is compared to the Third Tier season and we are told we should remember that and be grateful and not criticise, as though thats remotely relevant to where the club is now.

It's easy to spot a happy clapper by excessive use of phrases such as ..."grow a pair"..."entitled twats". In addition, there will be unnecessary and overuse of the "f" and "c' words, as if swearing adds some depth to their posts (it doesn't).
Invariably, they will also be extremely dismissive of other people's views.
Nobody minds a bit of positivity, in fact after our recent run it is extremely welcome but the "everything is fine because we were once in the old 3rd division" approach is pointless. Things have changed, the people behind our club will not accept being middle of the road and will not be resting on our past laurels.

Not many intelligent folk on here are even thinking the current situation is fine because of what we were like in 1999 BUT we can see the complex dynamics the multiple injuries are causing. A bit of perspective is needed & instead of moaning about what we DIDN’T do, live in the present & put forward some suggestions as to what we should do in the next few games in view of our unfit & injured players.
It’s easy to complain about past inactivity with hindsight - so use your superior knowledge to solve the current problem. What should Pep do ?

I'll happily admit I'm a happy clapper. Why wouldnt I be ?

I have watch my team reach unbelievable heights.
For 4 seasons we have been the best team in the pl, done the treble, won the champions league. That is super humour effort, to be at the top of your game.

This has to be mentally knackering, the players don't have enough rest between games, they don't have enough rest between seasons.

I'm more pissed of with City fans calling this team and Pep out. It's embarrassing the way some fans are behaving.

A drop off was always going to happen, it just so happens its when City have a long injuries list.

This team and club has gone beyond any of our dreams and it deserves our full support.

Things aren't going well now us fans need to step up

I think thev manner and tone of the " criticsm " is the issue personally. Some disgraceful phrases are used to describle players, club, etc imo.

Calling a player a " fucking useless **** not fit to play for us " as an example does not really explain what the issue they may be having, but merely vents the mood of the poster.

so i guess that makes me a happy clapper. i mean, i can recognise when things aren't going well, but i'm not going to panic and cry and throw my toys out of the pram ( if anything i'm going to ask Santa for more toys ).

i'll stay chill and enjoy the good moments as and when they come around.

No City fan should be happy at the moment.

I can’t get too worked up about a run of losses. I’ve been angry twice during this losing spell. On both occasions, the equaliser against Feyenoord and Juve’s second goal last night, we had defenders who didn’t sprint back to defend our goal. That was embarrassing for professional footballers. For most of those games I thought we were pretty good.

We can do our bit supporting the lads from the stands on Sunday and hope we put in a top performance on the pitch.

Nobody has suggested that fans shouldn’t feel down; upset & even annoyed but to keep banging on about poor recruitment in past transfer windows, without acknowledging the very serious injury situation which is unprecedented in terms of the number of top players out at the same time whilst those getting fit are having to play before they’re fully recovered- just smacks of short memories & entitlement. There is no real answer to the current situation until a) most of the injured players return fully for b) the trans window opens.

Until then we have to understand; support; accept & cope

You also miss the whole point, you mention our injuries and you are quite correct, but maybe if we prepared better for a Rodri back up then we wouldn't feel his miss as much. It has been said for years, we had a period last year of 3 games out and 3 defeats to realise he is vital, and a way to play without him just as vital. It is all linked. Letting Alvarez go with no replacement is terrible, which means Haaland can't get a rest and his form dropping. Had our recruitment been better we would be better prepared for an injury crisis like this. We also can't be surprised the linkes of Stones and Grealish and KD being out as it happens all the time - again poorly prepared.

They have our support - simple.

So - knowing Rodri was fully fit, which top player would come as a back up? …. Maybe Kovacic??
Everything is easy with hindsight- sure we could have had a better transfer window/s but no club would expect to lose 9 top players at the same time. Suppose we could disagree all day & keep repeating same old things but - as you say
