Today is the anniversary of City’s record crowd of 84,569. This remains the record attendance for any game on a club ground. It is also the record for any game in Britain outside of Glasgow and London.

Was there a particular reason for such high attendances in that season? For example, I believe Stoke had their record home attendance in that season as well, at home to Arsenal.

Fuck all on the telly. BBC didn't start broadcasting (tv) until 1934 and didn't really get going until 1936.
