Happy St George's Day

What are the things that define being English? What is English culture? I'm proud to be English, but I haven't a clue why.
Football? Comedy? Music? Tea? Morris Dancing?

The red in the flag is the blood that was spilt
In the way that your forefathers tell
And never a country been so great
The stories Britannia could tell
I never want to live my life
Away from the golden shores
There's never a country in the world
With the scent of an English rose
England, oh England, a country so great
The land of so fair and so true
There'll never be any colours like
The red, the white and the blue
Whenever you go to the far off shores
There's something that goes with you
The pride and the joy and the love that comes
From your mother of red, white and blue
You could never be born under a flag that's like
The one of a Union Jack
St.George's spirit has never died
It all keeps coming back
England, oh England, a country so great
The land of so fair and so true
There'll never be any colours like
The red, the white and the blue
England, oh England, a country so great
The land of so fair and so true
There'll never be any colours like
The red, the white and the blue
England, oh England, a country so great
The land of so fair and so true
There'll never be any colours like
The red, the white and the blue
England, oh England, a country so great
The land of so fair and so true
There'll never be any colours like
The red, the white and the blue.

We apparently don't have any. Everything we think is 'English' culture we have stolen from elsewhere. Nothing to celebrate at all.
Well not quite true, we are to celebrate all other's above any we may believe to be our own.

Not trawled through the pages here, but expect plenty telling us 'George wasn't even English' yadda yadda yawn... ?

They put you in prison if you say you're English....

You're unaware that St Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland and the reason there are no snakes on that island is because Patrick drove them out?

Similarly Saints Andrew, David, Denis etc?

Agree we don't need to claim it back; I think k we already own it.

Cry God (who I also don't believe in) for Harry (but not Megan) England and St George!

I know them because they’re constituent parts of my country.

What’s Italy’s? France’s? Spains? Germany?
