Where were we when we were shit :-) I was down the side that day, Craig Russells' deflected? lob seemed to take an age to go in (the other end to my left) and its about as much as I want to recall from a shitty grey day.....anyway, altogether now 'Wo-oh I'm a City fan, a very loyal City fan and I swear that I went to York'

25 years ago today, 250k Blues descended on Bootham Crescent to see us get beat by York, generally regarded as the lowest point in our history.

How beautifully ironic that 25 years later, we're representing Europe in the World Club Championship.

It seems longer than 25 yrs ago.
But then again I liked a smoke back then, so smoking a big reefer on the terrace during that game probably blunted out the shambolic position we found ourselves in with that result.
I remember it getting messy in York later after the game. Some very pissed off blues that day

I was the opposite and all my senses were “heightened “ that day, shall we say. Spent most the match trying (very unsuccessfully) to chat up a rather fit Yorkshire female (you have to clarify these days don’t you?!?) dibble. Went to a club in York after the game and by about my 8 hundredth pint hit the proverbial brick wall, fell arse over tit in the train station, watched several our lads get nicked for being in an even worse state than me - got back to town, decided I needed a bit more “hurry up” and staggered into some dive of a club on High Street.
Quite possibly the illest I’ve ever felt the next day - had no idea we’d lost, had removed at least 75% of my inner gums and vowed “never again”, well, not until the next time.
