Last season Eto's was on the verge of signing for some rich club out in the Far East and it did not happen.

errrr.... mate.... Rich far eastern club? It was a club in Usbechistan and Eto'o did not negotiate with the club... The president of the club used him as a media stunt in his political carrear...

And actually at the moment the club has Rivaldo in the squad and Scolari (yes the guy from chelsea) is their headcoach... Usbechistan is apparantly the new Middle East ;) all the old players go there to make the last paycheck ;)

Thanks for the information. At the time I was immersed in the Kaka saga, but still goes to show that you should never take anything for granted.

EDIT: He was linked with Budyonkor(sp?) from Uzbekistan though.
