Hard To Be Here

A significant number of the posters on here have to be Man Utd or Liverpool fans.
Or, just as likely, "glass three quarters empty" merchants. Off the top of my head, I can name 4 or 5 who really struggle to post anything that's not negative. Their choice, of course. But you wonder why they bother supporting City, if they can't get any enjoyment out of it. Hey ho.

Being negative is in most of the old City fans' DNA, From the 1980s to 2008, even the club was being run in a negative way, so how could the City fans be optimistic, We mean well and love the club just the same.

I'd like to think we've moved on since those grim times. Comparing now to back then, there's precious little to be negative about, really. But, as I said earlier, that's their choice. I've been a fan all my life (63 in December), and I've been living the dream this past 17 years.

Or the ones who keep saying they hate the club and modern football and they are not going to any more matches. Yet they keep posting negative posts about how shit the club is if anyone is interested. They don't have to support City. If it's so great watching non-league football in crumbling stadiums they can always make the switch. My favourite comment from Pep is the one he always uses when asked if players are unhappy. "If they don't want to play for Manchester City they can leave." It applies to the fans as well.

We have but dig the new bread of Manchester City fans have only tasted success, it's every game now and every game is on the line, somebody is to blame for losing or drawing. Maybe they should go back and have a look at how we won titles and the Champions League ?

It's never just one game is it? Winning titles takes skill and bloody hard work over a season of ups and downs

You'll never stop loving the club, impossible. But am I finding it harder to watch a game nowadays, absolutely. Last season and the start of this have been a very hard watch in the majority of games I must add not all. Our fluidity and exciting play has fallen off the edge of a cliff compared to the early Pep seasons. That's only my take and I expect not many will agree with me, so don't shoot the messenger please

I'm with you FordyBoy. Exactly. I've followed good times,,bad times, good times. We've had beyond my widest dreams this last 14 years.

But this turgid style of play since last season is doing my nut in. I get bored watching and can't believe that I actually enjoy seeing other teams play ATM, don't support any of them, but by heck I appreciate the fast, incisive footy. Palace last week were a joy and not just because of the result.

I swear if the high back line carries on for much longer I will have a coronary, every time ANY opposition get in our half I expect them to score. All are faster and at the other end defensively organised.

The post Treble recruitment was absolutely woeful. We are paying the price now. I know success doesn't last forever, but this is such a disappointment after the very high highs of the last 8 years.

100%

Especially when Everton get a big overseas investor and overtake them again. Everton were comfortably the major club in Merseyside when I started watching football in the 1960s.
And they were on the cusp of being a top European side until some other team got everyone banned, for killing people. How they always get a free pass to play the righteous card after that, heaven only knows…

think some of it is media just when did we start talking about being champions 5/6 games into season. programe after programe i cant see X losing a game this season it's all over, it used to 10 games see where teams are then march the push is on. i get ssn want title race but its laughable

I swear to God, there's a sizeable number of our fans (particularly on here) who have become extremely entitled. There was a post on here after the game last night (I won't name the poster).....

" the passing and decision making was League Two standard."

It was at that point, I decided to call it a night, before I said/did something I'd have regretted this morning. The match threads in particular are ridiculous now, specially if we aren't 4 up in 30 minutes.
I came on postmatch atound 1am, read a full page of posts slagging players off and fucked off.

I know I'm not far off the old fart age and am more cynical nowadays but don't you agree that we're a much harder watch now. How many of our games are exciting to watch compared to a few seasons ago?. Recruitment is to blame because besides Erling the rest have been pretty bang average

I'd be a disappointment to him, I'm very positive irl on matters other than footy or Emma Raducanu :-),

I'd say that he's one of the most negative posters on here. So if you're in any way positive, even about next door's rhododendrons, you will indeed be a disappointment to him. But I wouldn't let it worry you!

What have you got against Raducanu, by the way? She seems harmless enough.

Joined in 2008 and enjoyed many years of great football debate and discussion but it’s almost impossible these days and frankly I rarely bother.
