Hard To Be Here

Most of that, is at its worst on the match day thread. Which is why I try not to look at it.

The level of anger and entitlement when we don’t win a game or a league every year is embarrassing

It's not about 'not winning' for me, it's more about the standard of performance.

We're a million miles away from the team we were a couple of years ago, and Pep's tactics are, far too frequently, mind numbingly predictable, stale, and boring.

We're watching a team of lower standard players trying to meet to the tactical demands of a fantastic coach who is sadly, but clearly, 'past his best'.

For a club of our wealth and standing, we shouldn't be seeing such poor football.

Hang on bud, are you sure you’re in the right place? Happy clappers only on this thread don’tcha know? ;-)

We aren't as good as we were. I was in the Stoke area with ten lads in 1998. I will accept we are not as good as we were.
Yep, same. I thought out game plan was sound today. We dominated against them and had 25 shots.

We’re just not good at attacking at the moment. It’ll come in most likelihood.

The frustration is that we know we have the talent, it’s just not clicking.

Even if we’re out of the CL and league, we’re still going for 2 cups.

Imagine being disappointed with that 30 years ago!

I am as disappointed as anybody but you have to put it in context. I was at West Ham in 1987 when we were relegated. If we were to lose points I am glad it's them. Proper club. I hope they stay up.

If that point helps relegate spurs in the process, itll be a great 2 points dropped.
The first City game I took a proper interest in as a nipper was that game against Spurs at Wembley all those years ago. I'm sick of that Ricky Fucking Villa goal, and if we play some small part in relegating those cunts, I'll at least take something positive out of the season, even if we win fuck all, which is looking increasingly possible with every passing game.

I was at both. I got smacked in the face from behind on Wembley Way at the replay. However I saw a Tottenham fan get slashed after the match. Not good times no matter what others say.

Tbh, the reaction on here pretty much mirrors what I’m seeing on Twitter and even in various WhatsApp groups I’m in. It’s not really a BM issue - there does seem to be growing discontent across the fanbase, rightly or wrongly.

Well if that’s what you’ve seen it’s a shame what our fanbase has become, although I doubt the majority are match going fans.

Honestly, it's just disappointment more than anything. We've been so used to winning under Pep that losing like this still feels strange.

And look, Pep’s a genius and no one can deny that. But some of the decisions over the last two seasons have been baffling. We bring in Semenyo as a winger to compete with Doku and Savinho after losing Bobb, and then we play him as a number 10. It didn't work against Madrid, but we stuck with it anyway - and in the process our best and most creative player is sat on the bench.

Nico Gonzalez has been brilliant all season and the moment Rodri comes back he suddenly can't get a look in. We are flogging Rodri again and don't even use Nico G to replace him when he's tiring in recent games. Ait-Nouri was comfortably our best player today and he's the one that gets taken off! Why? And what good did this do?

Our regular full backs get dropped for Madrid. Reijnders comes on in a game where we needed control more than midfield runners.

It just feels like we're overthinking everything. The decisions don't add up, and for a team that’s been so dominant for so long, it's frustrating watching things that should be simple get made so complicated.

I honestly can't wait for the Rico Lewis central midfield experiment in the Final next Sunday.

Many are, I’m afraid. I think the notion that match going fans are necessarily far more patient or tolerant is a bit misguided.

We didn’t lose, we drew.
I know the feeling though.

Don’t look at the bbc hys comments, it’s cheats cheats and more cheats.

Desperation in my opinion.
Once you factor in that 90% of people posting on social media are imbeciles, you tend to care less, whatever the platform you’re looking at.

It’s emotional reaction before thought most of the time,

I don't think it's the result that bothers me. It's more the strange decisions and the performances.

I'd rather lose, and play with courage by throwing everything at West Ham than draw the way we did today. We never showed any urgency or fight to win that game today until 65-70 minutes into the game.

Define courage?

Is it that we’re English football fans that crave blood and thunder tactics when we’re not winning, but will accept the tika taka when it does?

Seems to be that when the chips are down, fans want players smashing into tackles and running faster than chatting with each other and working out why the tactics aren’t working.

Gundogan is a prime example. When we lose, he needed to care more and smash into tackles, whereas that’s never his game and he was always going to affect games with his brain and movement.
