Hard To Be Here

Ha ha. Some people just love it. Sometimes I love a good moan myself. We will never be like one of the cult clubs. I don’t like personal abuse of players though. That should be off limits. Some people are just frustrated at life. Easy to understand with the world at the moment. But it’s just howling at the moon.
I like a moan and have defended it as an acceptable thing to do in this thread.

but there are a few who seem to do it as their hobby rather than as genuine concern over the clubs wellbeing

I’d just like to be entertained, last nights match was shit nit just from the City view but West Ham barring a few goes forward did nothing to entertain the paying public, yes I know they have a job to do in avoiding relegation but Jesus it was awful too watch. When we were shit it didn’t cost a lot, we had our humour and that togetherness but now if I’m paying a premium and quite significant amount I expect a return, it’s not always about winning it’s about been entertained, I can handle losing as long as we have a go, last night we huffed and puffed but how many shots did we have? Can’t have been more than half a dozen, that’s crap.

I agree that some have lost the plot because of our success, however it’s reasonable to critique his recent team selections and tactics. I’m perfectly happy with 2nd and going far in all cup competitions, as long as we win one, what I am not happy with is watching Haaland stink the place out every week and Cherki getting barely any minutes when he’s our best attacking threat.
No Cherki and playing Semenyo as a number 10 which, with the best will in the world, he’ll never be, is the oddest one, for me. That and the slow play, especially given how they actually looked like a proper, playing at pace, attacking team for the last 20 minutes.

I think some get confused but entitled fans and fans who just want to watch a good game.
I put myself in the just watch a good game. Yesterday wasn't a good game it was boring, City looked like a team that never train together, to be fair they dont have much team to train at the minute.

To be totally honest they arent many good games in the pl. Most are the bus against attack, not just Citys games. We now have wwf at corners, time-wasting, var, fake head injuries. The pl isnt a good watch. Think i have just lost interest in football to many pl games are boring. I get west ham might see last night's game different to us.

I watched Coventry v Southampton yesterday cracking game, end to end goals, some meaty challenges a mad goal mouth scramble at the end. It was everything the pl use to be

As a regular contributor to the forum, and a fan since 1968, I am looking at the forum tonight, and for large parts of last season, wondering how I can avoid becoming so utterly irritated by mindless comments. Apparently Rico is the least athletic player in the entire league, Cherki will have the flair taken from him, and Pep will ruin Omar Marmoush, just as three examples. Every single one of us feels a defeat, but does it really need to come with comments so devoid of sense or sporting insight because we didn't take away the points and have lost our heads?

All the 3 examples you gave are almost true.

1- After Cherki played his best assist of the season, Pep critisized him & instead of praising him ( Messi play simple passes....etc )

2 - Regarding Rico, he is now 3rd choice RB & 7th choice CM

3- +60m for Marmoush with +200k a week so he can use him mainly in the Carabao & FA Cups Games

Agree with point 1

Very true. The whole point of being a fan is that it allows you to vent. City fans have always been moaners. It is in our DNA. If the team plays well we moan about the food, the transport, the ticket prices, the new stands. When I first followed City in the late 60s/70s there was an old man near us (of course called Stan). He never shut up about Doherty being better than Bell. And apparently the atmosphere was shit at Maine Road compared to Hyde Road!
I disagree.
The whole point of being a fan is to support the club, manager and players.

There's quite a few on here who you rarely ever see when we win. If they're City fans, I'm the brother of a monkey's father.

27 but only 6 on target.

I don’t mean you have to vent all the time but there are moments when anyone can get frustrated. I attend most matches home and away and have done for over 50 years. I never slag players individually and always support the team. But criticism on a forum like this is fine with me apart from the loons on the match day thread.

Quick question; when the media mention how much our squad cost (Ian Darke, come on down!), this place goes absolutely ballistic. Is it different, then, when we do it?
Those going ballistic are also the ones in general that see every decision against us as a conspiracy, every ref, pundit, owner blah blah.
All our players are great, give em another season, they are fatigued, not match fit, need to learn the Pep way, struggling mentally as the paper boy didnt turn up again. Those constantly moaning about moaners without any self awareness whatsoever.
Nearly every barney is caused by two opposite views but very similar ways of seeing their arse when there opinion is not accepted.
The forum is an extension of the pub and people will exaggerate, so and so is fucking shit. Compared to who? Do people really get so tetchy if they hear a guy say Pep fucked up today in the pub or at the game.
Moaners and mard arses who cant cope with criticism.
And by the way it hasn't changed its always been like this, and its not just us its all fans.
The best is when someone says its always the same ones, then just put them on ignore and everyone else who annoys you, bingo a forum of like minded people to confirm that your own views are obviously the correct ones. Winner winner.

An unexpected bump for this thread from some months ago.
A couple of disappointing results will do that, I suppose.
On we go for Tuesday.
