Dont see this argument at all. You are effectively saying if he were cheap, he would be good enough for us. Is that right?
I can’t fathom how we could consider breaking the transfer record for a defender who is no better than our third choice CB.

You talk as if you know we are in for him. I remain unconvinced by reports that one week state a deal has been done at £65m with a medical in the pipeline, and then the next week the fee is £100m. If it sounds phoney, it probably is.If he wasn't English. We'd have abandoned him a long time ago. When Rodri signs, we don't have space for a foreign CB unless Otamendi leaves.
While Delph leaving would free a HG spot.[/QThey said it was a done deal at £65m with a medical due a few days ago. Now they say it's £100m. They are just making it up.

I think it highly likely that Delph will leave. If Angelino arrives he will be fourth choice left back. After last season, I think Delph may go. I agree about Angelino too. Hard to see a role for him, unless we have doubts about Mendy's recovery.I think it highly likely that Delph will leave. If Angelino arrives he will be fourth choice left back. In terms of midfield he will probably fall behind both Foden and
Zinchenko and is very unlikely to make the bench never mind the team. It is very hard to see how he can get a game even in the early rounds of cups he may not get a game.
Whoosh.
You want some?
If Danilo leaves, I’d prefer to see us move for Leicester’s right back.
that's not what you said though. You said "at that price, he isn't good enough" - price doesn't decide a players suitability is my pointI can’t fathom how we could consider breaking the transfer record for a defender who is no better than our third choice CB.
It shouldn't but with FFP and the politics surrounding City it probably does.that's not what you said though. You said "at that price, he isn't good enough" - price doesn't decide a players suitability is my point
Last week it was £65m. Now it's £100m. The media don't set the price. LCFC do. However there also needs to be a bidder. I don't think there's any evidence that City are in the market for a central defender, and if we were in for a central defender, surely we'd have some believable evidence by now. i.e.SSN understands that MCFC have made a bid of X, or LCFC have turned down a bid of X, and the player is not for sale etc. There's been nothing like that, just outlandish claims from nowhere. No club, not even United will pay £100mill for Maguire.
City won’t. United won’t, after their dreadful recent signings, and massive wage bill rise. Liverpool don‘t need him. Arsenal and Spurs won’t spend that amount of money on a player. Chelsea’s have a transfer ban. So Maguire has 2 options. To stay at Leicester, carry on playing for them, and run his contract down. Or he and his agent try and instigate a move. But I don’t think he is the type of player to do that to Leicester. But if something doesn’t happen, he will play out his best years at Leicester, and the miss a final chance to play for a club that wins trophies, and playing in the CL will also pass him by.

No.Sorry Marv, but that is just barmy.
Forget any cost is the guy good enough or not?
That may or may not be the correct answer, but some seem to be able only to come to that conclusion because of the fee
