I don't see the hype tbh, ive always thought he was average at best. Defo not worth the 70mill imho. But the rags do like to panic buy and pay over the odds. He won't improve that team much, as they're a terrible squad.

I think Walker was good value.

Indeed, but due to his age, he cost more at the time than we would usually expect City to pay.

This! Would he improve us = yes! Would he improve the Rags = Huge YES! He is commanding in his own box and very dangerous in the opponents box... Don't know why we are so blinded by the fact that he is a very good player, albeit grossly overvalued, but that's not his problem. Odds on scoring against us this coming season from a corner/free kick ????

agreed, maguire would be a very good signing for us but is a brilliant signing for them lot!

I think Walker was good value.

Walker was very expensive at the time but he improved us in a position where we were desperate and he's been solid enough for us. The success we've had with him as a first choice regular in that position makes it impossible to say we overpaid really. It was probably the equivalent of paying £75m for Maguire now. It's an eye watering amount but not something i think we'd live to regret either if we keep winning stuff (which I think we will).

Maguire isn't even worthy of a bench spot in our squad. Not our level. He'll improve rags because it's not that difficult in that side to bench Smalling, Jones, Bailly. Easy starter every week with Lindelof

Walker on his day is still the best right back in premier league. It's unfortunate because last year lack of rest got to him, he was quite good near end of season
