Harry Maguire

We have an issue with corners especially ones over the first man and at the near post.

Whether Maguire fixes that I don’t know.

Personally, I can see why we would go for him but it doesn’t excite me and he would certainly be our record signing.

He's a beast.
I can see him scoring shitloads of headers similar to the one's he scored for England, once he engages everyone might as well go home.
Plus he's got great feet for a big fella and a centre half.

That's Zinchenko's zone and it has become a problem since he started playing regularly.

Either we will mix things up a bit, he will improve, or Mendy coming in at 6'2" will kill the issue.

Rodri is 6'3" as well so if he arrives we will have another big player.

I dont think being good in the air is a reason to get Maguire.

Get fucked you condescending prick.

There was actually a stat that was shown during the Brighton game about how bad we were percentage wise at conceding from the limited corners we concede.

The comment you take exception to was actually quite tongue in cheek and maybe you might realise that if you didn't take yourself so seriously and make such stupid remarks. In all competitions City conceded goals from corners in only four matches - Chelsea away, Arsenal at home and Brighton away in the league and Spurs at home in the CL - a goal which City fans are convinced should have been disallowed. That's 4 goals conceded in 61 competitive matches in five competitions, so the raw statistics are compelling and conceding one goal from a corner every 15 matches suggests the percentage stats must be pretty good as well. So, if we need Maguire it does not seem to be to make us less of a pushover at corners. We may need him because Vinnie has now left and Nico may also leave but that's not certain - but that depends on Pep being genuinely interested in him. And you can bet that won't depend on your eyes or stats trotted out during a match in which we have actually conceded one of only three league goals we conceded in the entire season.

I really don't understand the hate for Maguire. Looks a good player to me.

It's not as through there is an abundance of of world class central defenders up for grabs.

It seems to me that people want a nineteen year old kid who has had a very good season in a shitty league or no one at all!

If you can't have De Ligt and you don't want Maguire then who do you want?

Jerome Boateng?

Actually no, I agree with you I think Maguire would be a decent signing.

I want Jonathan Tah or Ibrahim Konate if we can't get De Ligt (extremely High probablitity)

I do wonder if our interest in Tielemans is real or just a tactic to get Leicester to play ball on Maguire.

Remember people not wanting Stirling when we were in for him but I always thought he’s English and can do things in and around the box that others can’t get the same feeling with Mcguire

Understand the need to get our English quota up and I suppose that's an addition to his skill set, so I still think he's an English thug of a player that isn't England class and is not for me. If he stopped clattering players and concentrated on playing then he would change my opinion as I think he can play, but at times he's like Ottamendi on steroids

I’m with manimanc on this one. Added to this, he seems to be a leader - driving the team forwards when necessary. As long as he’s remotely coachable, I see no reason not to take a look.
