Harry Maguire

I don't really see why City fans are lining up to criticise Maguire. In my opinion he's a very good central defender and a player who would fit our ideal of a footballing defender very well indeed.

At least we should now find out if City's interest in the player is real.

Marvin he's absolutely shit. I've said this before but hes slow, fat and cant turn. Imagine him in a Pep system where he has to play twenty yards higher up the pitch.

His use of the ball is overrated, and he's like Wilshere where his second touch is a tackle because he's overran the ball so far with his first.

I'm buzzing that he's going to be alongside Phil Jones and Luke Shaw next season. They'll get ripped apart.

Im not convinced we would be even looking at Maguire if he wasn't English, but we don't even need English player now that we are signing Angelino. Just replace Otamendi with young foreign CB.

And here is one.

If United are actually in for him this could turn into a tricky one. They’ll be throwing all the money at him, in terms of both fee and wages which could force us to cough up more than we would probably want to if we really want him. There’s very little doubt who he’d choose given the choice but the danger could be are unwillingness to go to Uniteds extreme levels and we may rely on Maguire forcing a City move. Is he the type to do that? He doesn’t seem like the VVD dickhead type of character he seems relatively content at Leicester and Leicester themselves probably won’t be too happy about us coming in for their best player two summers in a row and definitely won’t be accepting less money to grant his wish.

if that was the case a lot of them would be out of business

They don’t know anything and In football transfer circles get it wrong all the time. The odds are determined purely by the amount of money bet on them. How anybody can even consider betting odds when looking at the likelihood of a football transfer is entirely beyond me.

Imagine spending £120m on Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire...Ludicrous.
Both players will improve them no end though. Maguire will give them a presence and leadership on the pitch they have been sorely missing. Im not fussed if we don't get him, but lets not kid ourselves that he isnt a good player who will improve them a lot.

Angelino is club-trained. So we do still have an association-trained spot free, assuming Delph leaves.

Sky Sports News understands.

All that is missing is Jim and the yellow ticker banner at the bottom of the screen.

Like most football fans I gave up on SSN years ago.

Not bothered about missing out on Maguire tbqh, surely there are better options out there for half the price. Of course he'll improve Utd but let's not kid ourselves that he's the new Maldini, Beckenbauer etc.

Bookies very rarely get it wrong though,it is slightly different with transfers than compared to horses or the other bent sport betting at greyhound meets,I grant you,but be realistic for a sec,and I'm not saying you bet,I do,I would very rarely, if ever back at odds of 4/11,and some would get on at 5/2 for the better value, but the next in the betting are Liverpool at 33/1,so basically it is a 2 horse race,(according to bookies),so unless it falls which one,if forced to would you bet on the 4/11 or the 5/2 ?

I know what I'd be on

Who do you think Maguire will be playing for this season?

People keep saying there's better centre backs out there, who are they, and are they attainable.?

We've been linked with Bonucci again. I have no idea if that has any foundation but he is better and apparently could be available. Doesn't have age on his side but with all the younger guys we have, he could be valid exception to our current approach to recruitment.

It does not matter. Player is player whether its club trained or association trained. Extra player regardless. Replaces Delph in any case.

HG spots can be empty, there is no reason to fill them for the sake of it.

He is an Englishman that's the only reason he has been of interest. I really hope the rags sign him at a ludicrous price, then we can watch the rags back line sit 15 yards from the goal line leaving a ch

So how many of those 32 points will these two help reduce?
