Hart at it again

I think it is time for Hart to be our No 1. If its a choice between losing one of the two, than it would be for Hart to start. He is not quite the finished product, but he will be England No 1 for a long time to come, and could be our No 1 keeper for 10 years if he proves to be as good as we think he can be. Stability is key to the best teams- you don't want to be bringing in new players every 3 minutes.
Apart from your poor attempt at 'Pam Ayres' type rhyming, I agree with you. Given was good last season, but Hart is the future. Neither will be happy bench warming, and I don't have an issue with that - so one has to go, and for me it's a given that it is Given.

Hart scares me a bit - he goes run about too often (corners etc) but he's one hell of a shot stopper...
Given gives me more confidence but is a lot older and has had 2 major shoulder injuries, and once a shoulder pops out a couple of times it is always weaker and prone to do it again.

I don't have a problem with any of the City players speaking their minds (within reason) - yes they are contracted employee's but they are also human and I would hate for canned responses or "no comment" type bullshit.
I am happy that these players want to play every game and are not content with just sitting on the bench picking up a wage every week!

It's not like he's a human being - more like a tin of soup we've bought and paid for, and we can make it sit on the shelf till we're ready.

Goalkeepers are in a unique position in a team - if Hart is number 2 it means he plays virtually no games. Keepers never get subbed and rarely get injured. A player like Zab may not be first choice for any position but he could still end up with 30+ games. We complain about players who are only here for the money, yet complain when we have players who think playing games is more important than sitting down and collecting a big cheque each week.

Winners don't want to sit on benches, they want to play and get better. I suspect Hart will be number one, but if he isn't then I'd loan him out as it can only do us good for him to be playing regularly and improving.

He should have just said he wants to play and he'll do everything he can to play his best and hope's that he's picked as number 1. Full stop.

If he absolutely positively could not stop himself from saying more than that, then adding "and if I can't be number one, I would like to talk to my employers about what possibilities might exist for me to get regular 1st team football". Or words to that effect.

Not, "if I'm not number 1, I'm leaving". It's not up to you, Jo.

Why don't these fucking anuses just say that they aren't there to talk about club matters when they are away with the national teams? the fact that they are being asked the question is not a good enough excuse for giving answers that could destabalise the club. If Hart, Given, Bellamy or any other tosser wants to give an ultimatum then they could do it privately to the management at City and probably have the same effect with the added bonus of not making the club who pay their fucking wages look stupid.

Get rid of one of them ASAP. This is turning into a debacle.

Just tell both of them to shut the fook up and be professional. Hopefully we are in a long hard season of 60 games ish. Squad rotation is the order of the day.

And this!

If he's good enough, he'll be picked won't he. If not he won't.

Hart has always struck me as a rather arrogant and unlikeable fella. He may be a good goalkeeper, maybe he will be better than Shay but there is no guarantee he will be a great keeper.

One thing is for sure we don't need them both. Mancini must choose one then off the other one.

Personally Shay for me. It's not as if we will live to regret Hart leaving as we will no doubt sign Casillas or someone of his ilk next year.

What a fuckin nobhead you are,joe is one of the most pleasant young lad's you could ever want to meet and as for arrogant probably, when your the best young keeper around arrogance in football get's you place's.

Hart as with the rest of the squad needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

That said it looks like it will be imposssible to keep Given and Hart. So Given will have to go (As long as its not to a competing side and we get decent money for him NO LOANS)

It seems to me like Mancini is trying to clear out the trouble causers, Bellamy being the first. Ireland and Given were also amongst the most vocal when Hughes was sacked. This is all afters from last season IMO.

The most important thing now is we have a happy settled squad. No more players speaking out of turn calling the shots.

Because we've seen more and more of this (not just from City players I might add) some people have been duped into thinking it's OK. Well it is not!

Can you imagine walking down the street and a TV crew come up to you and ask you about your job and your employer. Would you dream of saying something like "I want XYZ and if I don't get it, I am off", knowing your boss will see the interview?

If I did that, I would expect to be summoned to the office, bollocked royally and possibly sacked.

one player that has come out of the press well in the last couple of weeks (quite surprisingly, I think) is Mica. He's not been moaning and groaning that new players have been brought in, he may not get a game, it's my ball and I'm taking it home etc etc like some of the others.

He has just said that he's really relishing the fight for a place and that it's improving him... good lad - I thought he was supposed to have a bit of a superior attitude but this has been really refreshing.

Stevie Ireland has just kept schtumm - despite the speculation - which is again a good professional approach

I can understand players being nervous about their futures if X,Y or Z is coming in and threatening their place, though the ones with hunger fight for it, relish the challenge. The ones that whinge and whine about it and threaten OUR CLUB that if they're not picked, they're off are showing a piss poor attitude and zero respect to the people that are paying their exhorbitant wages (errr, that's us, by the way).....

I'm not one of the people on here who wants to rim Ireland but to be fair on him, I don't remember him mouthing off about Hughes being sacked. In fact the only thing I remember him saying is that Hughes had started playing him out of position. I might be wrong but to me, Ireland is the only one being frozen out who hasn't publicly kicked off. Not that I can rmember anyway.
