Hart has to be back here next season

tin hat on but tbh i think at the moment joe hart is a better shot stopper than given
ive benn watching highlights of every birmingham game since hes's been there and he has looked the better keeper.
its no coincedence that birmigham have suddenly got one of the best defences either

i think the defence is looking better now than it did a few weeks ago and now that vinnie is starting alongside lescott i think we'll get better but we have still conceded soft goals which are mistakes of shay and the defence. this anti shay feeling is gaining momentum i think and more and more people are realising that beyond every commentator in the land having a total hard-on for him he has quite a few weaknesses which are being exploited more often and i'd have to agree with some on here that hart is rapidly becoming the better keeper. if there were any way of putting off the loan for next season then i'd keep him and make shay work for his place

If we're insane enough to get rid of Given I guarantee he'll go on to a top 4 side, likely Arsenal. How quick some of you have forgotten how many points he earned us not so long ago.

Not sure about that, the top sides could have gone in for him for years but they never did.

Bring back Joe Corrigan. He was the best City keeper I ever saw and that includes Schmeichel. On a more serious note, we should not be allowing Birmingham to have JH for yet another season. There is too much pressure on Given already. Next year with expectations for success even greater, the pressure could easily double. We need JH for the cup games, of which hopefully there will be plenty, as well as to ease the pressure on SG when his form dips.

The bit in bold

You obviously didn't watch us much last year then? Given was awesome and kept us in so many games when the defence was laughable at times. Still, we are all entitled to an opinion but I am certain that the overwhelming majority of clubs would want him in their team. I am just saddened by the fact that so many "fans" seem to want to find a scapegoat for any defeat. We are in 5th FFS with still a very good chance of gettingthat 4th spot. Sure it may not be pretty at the mo but I remember the days of away matches at Wycombe Wanderers!!!! This is heaven by comparison.

Fair comment, but we wern't the richest club in the world back then.....

I still think we should stick with Bobby Manc for a couple of seasons though........

Said it before and I'll say it again, Shay has been found out. His decision making is abysmal. Certainly a good shout for getting Joe back

I saw this thread late last night and I told myself I wasnt going to post because I find myself saying the same things over and over again about Given but having read it this morning I can see the usual dross along the lines of "Given is the best keeper in the Prem" is being written.

Given is vastly overated by the media, who see him live once a month or see him pull off a couple of decent saves in 5 minutes worth of highlights on MOTD. This plus the habit of City fans of bigging up their players to an almost ridiculous level = "Given is World Class" or "Given is the best keeper in the Prem"!

The actual truth is Given is a good shot stopper, possibly as good as anyone but his overall game lowers his standing into average territory!

His distribution - Terrible!

Decision making - Terrible!

Command of area - Terrible!

Whether at this moment in time Hart is better is open for debate but I know this much, at his age Given is not going to get any better, what you see now is what you get! Hart has maybe 15 years ahead of him at the top level, he can improve immensely during this time! Loaning him out next season is a huge mistake, he should be back at the club and fighting for the number 1 jersey and in my opinion he should get it!
