and so it came to pass..... Manchester United fell
It has been suggested in many quarters (tabloids) that this will be a make or break season for Joe Hart and that if he is not the #1 at City he shoul leave.

Given this scenario (if true) wouldyou want Hart or Given?

For me it's Hart all the way.... I don't think he has ever had a really bad game for City taking into account the defences he was put behind.

given, for at least this season.
YES harts come on leaps and bounds these last 12 months, but given hasnt put a foot wrong, and we signed him to replace hart.
he is a very good young goalkeeper, but not for me this season, next, well who knows?

Certain sense of de ja vue on this thread?? Anyway has to be Given all day for me. One good season V's the most consistent keeper in the PL for the past 5/7 years? Not much of a choice if you ask me, also Mancini said last year that Given was one of the top 5 best keepers he has ever worked with.

To be fair it's like choosing between Ferrari and Aston Martin.

I'm loving the fact we're struggling to choose between two quality players for each position. (almost)

It's a really tough call. Given played well last year, but he's 34 now so not a huge number of years left. Hart is far younger and was quality last year, however he's unproven at a top side. Playing for Birmingham the pressure, and the expectation, is far less than at City.

the fact that birmingham survived and never looked like they wouldnt is IMO down to hart.
without him they would have been down since febuary, its a smaller club than city, a lot weaker in every department, has no real quality players, yet he managed to turn in great performances all season, against top opponents, so to say he hasnt prooved his self is way off mark.
his possitional sence is excellent, his distrubution is great and he comes out for crosses, hes a good shot stopper.
as for shay the ONLY part of his game that is better than JOES is shot stopping, and as i would say hearts shot stopping is better than average, hart wins BY A LAND SLIDE

Its such a hard call to make, given is undoubtedly one of the best keepers in the premiership, but hart has been fantastic too. I dont want to lose Hart which is one of my main reasons for wanting him to be our no.1 but if we do play Given and lose hart, no doubt we will just go out and sign a top keeper next season. Either way we will have a great keeper, but it seems such a waste to lose such a great player who we got for a steal.
