Has any City player not improved since last year?

Johnson, maybe he just needs a good run of games but so far he's not been anywhere near his best.

Problem is Johnson won't get a good run of games, he will feature in most, but not starting. I totaly agree with Mancini about him having to improve to be the best he can be, He has to learn to switch on defencively as soon as he comes on. He's brilliant going forward and does give 100% but some times just a bit niave in positional sense!

Kolarov has improved considerably this year or more likely his contribution to the team has been more noticeable, with his goals and assists coming at crucial times in crucial games.

He has been outstanding this year, yes occasionally he gets the odd run around and is caught out of position, but thats the nature of the beast if you are playing against a team that defends in numbers, and without Johnson playing, you need the full back to offer width to the side to stretch the opposition.

Crucial goals against Napoli and wolves, great assits for Yaya at QPR, Nasri at Wolves (cup), Marchena against Villareal. Plus an incredible work rate, which enables him to bomb up and down the flank constantly, deserves a lot more credit than he recieves.

I don't agree. His assists have to few and far between as well as his goals.

For a set piece 'specialist', his corners very rarely get past the first man, he's got no pace, he can't defend but his work rate is second to none.

For me he's at the same average level he was when we first brought him in.

Joe Hart is a top shot stopper but has given the opposition soft goals this season

Richards has massively improved both his attitude and performances.

Kompany and Lescott are now starting to look like a top 4 defensive pairing and it glaringly obvious against QPR just how much we miss Vinny's organisational skills particularly at set pieces.

Yaya is playing a more defensive role so he won't appear to be the same as last season but he still looks laboured and carrying a bit of weight

Barry and Milner have both been outstanding so far this season (Barry a bit shaky at QPR) but in the derby these 2 were magnificent.

Dzeko, Mario, Aguero, Balotelli, Silva - no need to mention anything about these 5 as they've all been phenomenal so far.

Just my opinion though

I've been let down by Bluemoon. Been waiting calmly for someone to say 'Lescott', but no one's done it yet. I thought I was the only Blue who liked him, as he gets dogs abuse normally. I suppose Savic's performance against QPR has made people appreciate him.

I like him too. It's a toss up who's better out of him and Kompany for me and togther they are immense. He wins the ball and passes it (virtually every time) to a blue shirt. What more can you ask from a defender?

I think Milner is our most improved player by a long way. His passing has improved dramatically. Last season he tended to run around like a headless chicken and pass with his head down. This season he's looking up when he passes and is much more controlled.

He's also learned the benefits of tracking Silva, feeding from the master's table.

-- Tue Nov 08, 2011 10:40 am --

To be honest I was a bit disappointed with Lescott at QPR, purely bacause I didnt think he helped out Savic enough. I thought that when he saw that the younger, less experienced player was struggling he would have tried to take the pressure off of him by taking a more dominant role.

For me Barry, Lescott, Milner and Kolarov have had outstanding seasons so far.

Barry's consistency, passing ability and intelligence are a joy to watch. For me the best midfielder to wear the shirt in the last 30 years.

Lescott-love the way he comes and wins the ball in the air-takes so much pressure off. Quick and plays with experience. Him and Komps are immense together.

Milner-works his socks off, plays in several positions even in one game and never moans. The kind of player that wins you the league.

Kolarov-gives us so much balance. Always on the front foot and the cross for Yaya was superb. Seems to have settled much like DeJong and Kompany did after a relatively mixed start.

In all honestly Tevez aside I cannot be critical of any of them. Loving every second.
