Has any club in the league had as many injuries/absences ?

We've had the worst season I can remember for abscences but it's hardly got a mention in the media. We had to go into our biggest match in decades with a kid at the heart of the defence. We've heard non-stop about Everton and Spurs having injures but because we have a big squad the media assume we're fine. It has hit our season badly and unsettled what was already an unstable team.

That's just what I'm trying to say. Every time we appear to have settled on some kind of partnership or system, it's been disrupted. For the first time all season we seem to have hit upon our best back four. And now bang, two of them are out. And it's the two who are hardest to replace in many ways.

As you say, for the united games we were abolsutely decimated.

It has made the season much harder. However is proves to me I'm right in my belief that we have a very very strong squad and are not far from a trophy winning/champions league side.

dont forget Everton they have had the most injurys ever in the history of football (if you know your history) , & some cheeky rich mancs pinched thier star player

lets take a moment & think of poor poor David Moyes

Some of us Bluemooners haven't forgotten about EFC's injury list. Quite substantial and to key players. We do possess some knowledge of what's going on around about. But I put the injuries down as a warning from the Almighty that Moyes needs to treat travelling fans with a little more hospitality than he could muster in January.

A famous American used to always answer her phone with the question:
"What fresh hell is this?"
I feel the same when DD starts a thread.
Surely it can't be anti Mancini, after all his beloved Welshman used to leave significant numbers broken in the German Alps in the pre-season.
Is there a replacement team of medics waiting in a remote corner of Portugal, poised to swoop on Carrington at their master's call?
Unlikely.
There is no mention of Superman, except as just one of many inexplicable casualties.

So it must be that DD is displeased with Providence and cursing our bad luck. Let's just hope that fate doesn't bite back against Everton tonight!

I can never remember City having as many injuries, suspensions or just wierd absences of key players during a season. I'm not sure whether any club in the division has had the same problems as us.

Off the top of my head:

Lescott - 2 long injury absences (both in the middle of superb spells of form)
Bridge - 2 long absences
Adebayor - 2 harsh suspensions, the ACN and a terrorist attack
Tevez - Birth complications
SWP, Ireland, Toure - lengthy injury absences
Bellamy - suspension
RSC, Onouha, Petrov - constant bloody niggles

I can't think of a single time this season when we've had anything like a full strength squad to pick from. There have been times when we seem to have had virtually a full team out injured.

Unquestionably it has made our job harder, and would make Mancini's acheivement even greater if we break the top four. It also shows what a strong squad we do have.

Spot on Dave.

Tottenham have a WHOLE team out, in fairness they have coped pretty well also.

Woodgate
Cudicini
King
Lennon
Defoe
Pavlychenko
Huddlestone

Hopefully our squad is stronger, as a few of those should be back before end of season
