We have ours set at 16.5 and it cost us £4.50 a day in the week after Xmas, where it was relatively mild.We had ours on 18c still freezing it never switched off. I had to change it to 21c that way it’s warm and does turn off. Nice and warm it’s a false economy if your freezing and you can’t shake off a bad chest infection, ending in A&E.

There are payment plans where you can get a new boiler and pay monthly.
Not checked in a while, but they used to be from £15 a month.
Blimey, that’s a big boiler!That's what I did was like £74 a month. Doubt a smaller house would need the same boiler size as mine either.
Four years is a long time ago. My pipework is for a condensing boiler and as i understand it would need to be replaced as well as the boiler . I am maxed out on two credit cards and just pips coming in so i am in the shit, am reluctant to cash the shares in in case somethings happens , got this far without the boiler so just have to keep goingThought you had 3k worth? I got a Worcester/Bosch for £34 a month, but that includes all servicing and parts for 10 years too.

A lot depends on your accommodation in a flat or mid terrace you kindly keep warm from the neighbours burning theirs if your lucky ;)Was -5 this morning according to car temp - We still never put our heating on till mid day as a rule really.

Someone gave me a link for a grant but after i sent them pics they said the government grants dont cover replacement condensing boilers and pipeworkso no luck there
