Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

I’ve set up three old bikes connected to dynamo’s that not only provide lighting you also work up a sweat so no need to turn the heating on. We are all sat in army issue parka’s. If it gets really cold we have some old chair arms in the back yard we can burn.

Fired mine up tonight, just to check it's all working, bled rads, soon got too hot in the gaff.
Off now till I really need it.

On for 15 minutes in a morning on lowest setting don't want the pump seizing, plus there's plenty of spare blankets. Can see it being on for an hour or so Christmas day though.

Top tip

Go outside for 5 mins with shorts and T-shirt on then come back in the house it be like a sauna

It’s warm enough in the day at the moment to have all the doors and windows open through the day, then get them all shut in the evening and trap all that warm daytime air in.

That works, except the missus refuses to go outside for a fag so I have to open the patio doors and freeze to death in my shorts. Whilst she has a quilt over her

My hormones left me a long time ago, I'm constantly hot I am surprised other people are even thinking of putting the very expensive central heating on.

I think a fair sized chunk of the population are in for a shock this winter.
