Has everyone given up now?

Absolutely. If we’re still 11 points clear come may the 1st next year, (Providing that rag cnut Fred Done is prepared to offer me at least 20 million to one against), I just might throw caution to the wind and risk a couple of quid on us finishing top

But by that logic we will never celebrate anything. We used to stand on the Kippax and sing 'Were going to win the league' and that was on the first day of the season. we have got so used to misery we fear everything and that includes an 11 point lead.

I think we have reached a tipping point where the powers that be are going to have to line up behind us and acknowledge the football we are playing because they can't be seen to be against us it would look to fishy. At the start of the season it seemed that as far as we were concerned it was business as usual, Walker sent off for nothing then Sterling sent off BUT something has changed I cannot believe how Taylor reffed the game last night or Oliver on sunday, are we so far ahead know that to try any of their usual tricks it would well be to obvious ?

There is always an underlying fear of failure and for some reason a fear of the rags with some despite how inferior they clearly are.

Weirdly when we are miles behind it works the other way with people saying we can still win the league etc when anyone with a pair of eyes could see that we were not going to.

The season we clawed 8 points back has skewed everyone's thinking I think.

We just wen't undefeated in our 15th straight league contest and our third string fullback was playing. I am not sweating our rivals too much.

The thread should now be closed, unbelievable people are chatting this shit till it's over, no understanding of probability

Oh piss off (inserts smiley face.) If i cant get fucking giddy after twatting the rags at their house, breaking the longest winning run record and watching a Silva masterclass and winning away from home on a wet wednesday night in Wales in the same week then when exactly can i get a bit giddy ???

Re some of the posts on this, it wasn't meant to be a raggish thread (tho it looked that way)

11 points is surmountable and from my/our perspective it aint over 'til its over but, it seems to me, none of our rivals seem up for it. That was all

It was the same in 2001/02, no one was confident of winning the league until wolves away late on, then we would it by 10 points in the end. The gap did close up and keegan bemoaned fans for saying stuff like "we are only 7 points clear" etc.

Interesting to see Spurs this weekend, and what they do
Come through that and then realisticly that's it isn't it?

Teams will always have something to fight for: a CL place, a higher position, or a way out of relegation. No team can afford to give up against anyone especially since they know everyone else will be trying. So, no. Every team we'll be fighting, until league positions are mathematically impossible to change, will try to nick a point or three off of us.

With that said, I think Tottenham presents a sterner test than United. At the very least, they'll have some numbers on the counter against our thin backline which clearly, United were too scared to exploit.

Think 1 or 2 are getting carried away. Let's just wait and see what happens. One of the worst things is for us to start sounding like the red shite fans used to.

If we beat Tottenham and go on to win the next 3 fixtures we'll be on a 20 game winning streak, which will be in the top 10 winning steaks in football history which is an unbelievable feat considering the top is Benfica 1970s team with a 29 winning streak

Anyone who cannot see the change in the way we are being treated (by refs and the media) has been blinded by what went before - and as such, lacks perspective. It’s why people are convinced that Kevin and David cannot win the PFA POTY; they are prisoners to City players never having won the award before and simply assume that will never change. Some people manifestly struggle to accept or anticipate change, even if it’s in their favour.

Quite simply, we’ve now arrived.

If, by "arrived", you mean we're the bull and the history of the Premier League is the China shop, then I agree wholeheartedly.

This feels like a raggish thread - let’s enjoy the football we are seeing right now, and take it one game at a time. In this league these days, any freak result can happen, no Raggy ‘we are going to walk it’ statements please - humility is the key and look only to the next game which will always be tough.

We should be proud of what the club is achieving both on and off the pitch and enjoy the journey after so many years of dross - but we should not forget those years and how we looked across at the red lot and despised the horrible crowing, piss taking and entitled way they acted. We are not them we are better and WILL respect every team we play no matter what, and for god sake let’s not end up like THEM
