Has Tevez lost the plot?

He isnt, but he's more likely to be around longer than Tevez. It makes sense for the coaches to spend time on the training ground developing a Dzeko-Aguero partnership. Time spent developing partnerships between Tevez and Dzeko or Aguero could turn out to be wasted come 1st January.

Until Tevez genuinely commits his future to the club he's bound to be a peripheral figure. Play him next week when Dzeko and Aguero can be rested before the Napoli game by all means. But dont involve him in any long term thinking.

I'm a huge Tevez fan, for his football ability but he can't be trusted not to fall out with Manchester again. He must be a nightmare to live with.

Let gets the most out him whilst he's still here but he's not our future.

Certainly a better team player, we seem to play so much better football when Tevez isnt in the line up. it was the same last year.

Tevez is a great player and if he wants to stay then fair enough but he will have to buckle down and put in the performances coming off the bench, he has lost the right to a starting place for the time being at least.

Also I'm not sure Kun and him would be a good partnership together myself, very similar players/styles.

All in all it is better than having to choose between SamHarris, Corroded and Miller for a starting role upfront lol

Does what Dzeko did at Wolfsburg not count, then?

You could certainly construct an argument that Dzeko has been as good as Tevez over the last 2-3 seasons. Wouldn't be an outlandish claim at all.

Obviously if you're basing it only on what they've done for City then Carlos wins hands down (so far).

Agreed.

Worth mentioning again:

Above all Carlos is averse to passing to a fellow striker. On two notable occasions, he passed to Edin Dzeko and Edin scored. The second time - when Edin scored his second goal against Aris instead of passing back to him - Carlos's immediate reaction spoke volumes. In any event, taking just Premier League games covered by the Guardian Chalkboard, Carlos passed just half a dozen times in total to Edin in the games against Wolves, Birmingham, Manchester United, West Brom, Fulham and Liverpool. It is hard to describe just how dismal that statistic is.

He annoys me off the pitch as much as on it, a great player no doubt, but I still believe we function better as a team with him off it. His head down, bull at a gate type approach, does not always help the team.
Spot on! When we played Villa away last season he was a fucking disgrace. Kolarov kept on getting himself free in space on the left wing in the second half, Tevez had the ball about five times when Kola did this and didn't pass to him once. Tevez tried to do something himself and kept losing the ball. This wasn't the only game he was like this.

Carlos Tevez is not a team player, he plays for Calos Tevez.

It was enough to get us from fifth to third, I dont think we can win the big trophies like that, he either starts to play more for the team or he will find himself sat on the bench.

By symbol he presumably means that when you think of City, you think of Tevez - probably, I don't know.

About the captaincy, surely he would have been told by Mancini that he's no longer captain so the fact he's said that worries me, I don't want him as captain. Do want him in the team though, just not ahead of Aguero or Dzeko atm.
