Has that loss just won us the title?

I want us to win the Europa League.

For the last couple of years, the fans have been dreaming of winning it.

Let's not get too big time.

We need to get our co-efficient up with UEFA and avoid another Champions League group of death next year.

It's a European trophy and across the continent, has plenty of kudos.

We will be the strongest side in it. I don't think the Thursday nights will help though, in terms of games now being moved to Sundays in Prem.

Don't agree Tolm..........believe me it'll be a hinderance in the grand scheme of things.

We would not be entering the Europa League at the stages we have done previously.

From what I recall, Liverpool failed to qualify out of the group stage last season and found themselves in the QFinals pretty quickly.

I agree about the grander scheme of things, but we can hardly decide to chuck everything else in on the premise of winning the League.

Look at the replays we were forced to play in the FA Cup last season, prior to winning it.

I'm not so sure taking them away would have resulted in us winning the league?

I'm not rubbishing the Europa Cup or questioning our ability to win it.

My worry is that we're in a great position in the League and i don't wont anything to destract or turn our heads from that.

You never know next season we might not be in such a good postition in the league but have a good run in Champs League?

At this stage in our growth the title is priority number 1

All the above is in my humble opinion of course........

We are big time now. Maybe you need to shake off the old 'small time' attitude.

What would you say if a dropped point at home to West Brom, brought on by fatigue from a Thursday night trip to Ukraine, cost us the title?

The league is right up top in our priorities and the Europa League is bottom.

Big Time?

I don't have a small time attitude, I have a winning attitude. I want to win every trophy we compete for.

We have won one FA Cup so far and I have waited 35 years to fucking see it.

That's it nothing more, we are top at present. Much as it may shock you, we could end up with nothing this season, if we put all our eggs in one basket.

We are big time, publicity and hype wise, by fortune of the results we have achieved so far, but we are not big time until we are consistently winning silverware across the board.

We started somewhere last season and that's all it was a start. Your definition of big time and mine seems very different.

Mine is emulating what United, Chelsea, Barca and Real Madrid have done.

Ask United fans what winning the European Cup winners' Cup against Barca did for them in 91.

You belittle the achievements of the City team that also won it back in 1970, are you saying we and they were small time then, also?

We desperately need more European experience ahead of next season and we get that in the Europa League.

Our squad is also good enough and big enough to rotate between Thursday and Sunday.

Have to agree with this and rotate as applicable.

Ask me in April next year. It's way too early to say yet, a loss at Liverpool puts us right in the mix, if the rags win then it's only a 2 point gap which is nothing.

When is a two point gap nothing? I thought it was a two-point gap?

We have to win it now.

We just lost about 10 m pounds from CL money last night. Would be useful 10 m for ffp thing.

Of course the title is the absolute priority.

It has taken us three seasons to put ourselves in this position to make a sustained title bid.

Yet I think some blues wanted to progress in the Champions League for nothing more than bragging rights.

I can wait a little longer. I firmly believe our second-string squad could go very close in the Europa League and don't think clubs can prioritise as simple as you say.

Players get injured, regardless of which competition they may be in.

The Europa League is a hindrance and should be given the relevant amount of priority.

I was hopeful of progression in the Champions (remember when it was referred to as Chumps) League but I didnt want it to get in the way of trying to win the league title.

I, too, want to win every trophy we enter but realistically this isn't going to happen. The Europa League will represent the biggest threat to any title aspirations. Think back to Fulham at home in February - it was one of our worst home performances of the season and came just days after playing Aris in the Europa League. We backed this up with a very unconvincing performance against Wigan at home.

With hindsight, Balotelli did us a massive favour at home to Kiev by getting sent off because that competition was sapping the life out of the team. Purely hypothetical, but I don't think we'd have won the FA Cup or finished third in the league if we'd carried on much further in that competition.

I really don't think that the Europa League will give us the extra European experience we allegedly require. It's like working extra hours in a primary school when the real aim is to be working in a high school. We also have plenty of European experience on the books.

Only if we play Wayne Bridge and co in the Europa League. But i don't think we will.

Fuck, we are going to be playing on a Sunday nearly every week. There's nothing i hate more than Sunday games.
Monday nights are even worse. I really hope we don't end up with a load of these now.

Ditto.
in the euro ticket scheme too and can't make Thursdays (or most f**king Sundays!)
Supporting City is like a pubic hair on a toilet seat - just when all's going well something comes along and pisses you off!

We can play two different teams this time round so that those who play on a Thursday don't start on the following Sunday.
