Has this been the most boring transfer window ever?

Even so, we know that there is a pressing need for an authoritative CB to complement Vinny, or to take command in his absence. It is the club's one glaringly weak spot, and if this problem was addressed, City would sweep up all before them.

I'm very surprised we aren't looking for another player. Chelsea look like they'll make at least 3 signings and are only a point behind us, yet we sit still.

Of course we'll be looking, we'll always be looking for players that can add something to this squad.

Agreed and with Txiki and Soriano I don't think that we will buy just for the sake of buying. I am fairly certain that if they believe the quality is not there then they will not buy. Just look at the summer signings they have pretty much all been fantastic yet we were linked with many different players. Build to compliment the squad not simply win just one season I feel.

Didn't really expect us to be that active, to be honest. You have to remember that the other clubs are the ones who are playing catch up, now, not us. We have the best squad in the league by far, and even with arguably the best striker in the league out for 5 weeks, we maintained a run which has pushed us on to where we lie now in the league. Not many could have done that, not after losing such a player.

Chelsea, on paper, have weakened. Brought in a player they previously let go and who has done well in a poor league. Not too clued up on the Egyptian kid, so can't comment.
Arsenal haven't signed anyone, yet, and even if they do it will only be to replace Walcott.
Liverpool, for me, aren't in for the title anyway so it doesn't matter what they do, and United, well, they don't even need to be worried about with their silly £37m over-spend on Mata.

I wouldn't be arsed if we didn't sign anyone to be honest, and just pushed onto the 4 trophies we are in for with the rather amazing squad we have.

Just watching SS News. They were talking about deadline day.

My young daughter has just asked what deadline day is so I explained that its the last day a football team is allowed to buy someone this season.

I watched her process this info then relating it to what she has been learning at school she asked

"So its a bit like the slave trade then, and they buy and sell people ?"

I think we will bring in a defender or 2. All our toughest games bar Chelsea for the rest of the season are away from home and I don't feel confident that the player we have now will be enough to get us through all those games. Not sure if it's the players or manager after all it's the same players that have been the best defence 3 years on the bounce, with more emphasis on attacking this season I think it's understandable a few extra goals will be conceded but some of the overall displays haven't inspired confidence. For me I think the mix of manager asking for different things that Mancini and some players while excelling at one thing are maybe lacking in what is expected
