Hatred for Arsenal.

To be honest I don't blame them for the initial anger at Nasri, it's more the months and months of abuse via Twitter that followed. Some initial venting of frustration that their player of the season (I don't know if he was officially, but I mean he very arguably was) leaving straight after finding by far the best form of his spell there, is perhaps to be expected. They should ideally be directing some anger at their board though, for thinking it is ever, ever acceptable practice in modern football to let the contracts of key players run down to one year left. That is one thing that totally flys in the face of them having good business acumen, which is supposedly the one positive thing you can actually say about the people who run that club. But I guess it's knee-jerk to focus some ire at the player as well.
I'm fairly sure they're still giving it out via Twitter though, and that's just desperately pathetic.
Bosman is why they were forced to sell Nasri (and possibly RVP) under duress but it was Bosman that enabled them to sign Sol Campbell several years ago to scenes of unbridled glee from their supporters.

Their shift from beneficiaries to victims of the totemic ruling in European football is symptomatic of their marginal decline as a force in English football.

the past 2 times we went their ground there was trouble outside.

cant stand the tarquin cunts.

ps

I dont understand the bitterness towards nasri, whats wrong with him wanting to move to a better team with better supporters and win some silverware?
surely thats the point of the game, winning silverware?

We're not all twats, honest! I can only speak for myself but Nasri and Adebayor are two ex-Gunners I don't look upon too fondly. Both left under a cloud after very public flirting with other clubs, both only ever really achieved one good season with us and both have had some not so nice things to say about the club since they left. Compare that with the general goodwill afforded to Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy. Their time at the Arse came to a natural end and a move was in everyone's best interests. So they moved on graciously, with no fuss and no ill-will directed at Arsenal. Classy men, both of them.

What I will say is that you shouldn't think all Arsenal fans are the same as the idiots you see sounding off on the internet. Unfortunately, places like internet forums, blogs and Twitter give the most obnoxious idiots a public place to air their vitriol. And you know what a lot of it is? Jealousy. Painful but true.

I met a lot of nobheads around the Emirates as well who didn't contain their glee at ending our title hopes. Not everybody I met or spoke to but more that way inclined than not.

No, the point of the game is playing football 'the right way.' It doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as the football looks nice.

It's a shame that some of their fans have become bitter towards us of late. I can understand some of their disenchantment in terms of the players that have left for us but they got good fees for Ade, Kolo, and Nasri in particular. Clichy was a bit of a steal at £7 million but overall I think they got above market value when you add the fees for all 4 players up.

Highbury used to be one of my favourite grounds - not a patch on The Emirates in terms of facilities, etc, but it had so much character. And despite what's gone on of late, that title winning match at Anfield remains my all-time favourite non-City/England footballing moment.

Wenger is a hypocrite. The management is laughable. Piers Morgan sucks. The stadium is quiet.

But I don't think most of their fans are the worst. For me Rags/Dippers way worse.

Granted, they are getting worse, but I think most of it is misplaced anger. They should be mad at their ownership but it's easier to make City the bogeyman.

All that said, while I greatly respect RVP, I find myself wishing we could sign a striker from elsewhere. The players who have already made the jump to City have come of their own free wills and City has done nothing wrong, but I just want the next big signing to be from somewhere else. Partially so I don't have to hear it from gooners but mostly just because there are other clubs in the world to sign players from.

Arsenal had a big investment in the mid 90s it helped them renew contracts sign bergkamp etc. You can't pretend these things didn't happen the scale may be different Arsenal fans but the game remains the same. I think if Nasri had bad mouthed us when he left we would have given him the same abuse tbh some city fans here are kidding themselves a little bit, if the shoe was on the other foot they would hate him. Arsenal are a selling club Wenger invests slow develop his investment sells high.
