Have we become everything that we despised in United fans?

Arrogant, deluded, desperate, it's fucking embarrassing listening to some blues lately. The money aspect seems to have completely clouded some peoples fair judgement. ( Assuming it was ever there to begin with )

i have no doubt with mancini's ideal selection would make more sense of everyones favourite subject "3 holding players" with kolorov and boetang bombing down wings - chelsea stylee.. DeJong holding with yaya and barry ( both far to slow for me, id love hamsik in there) in central midfield with silva in the hole completing the diamond, Mario and Carlitos up top. so with the fullbacks practically playing as wing backs u have 6 in midfield and would work and players all over (unlike last night) well i think but as we all know hes not had the opertunity to play this...

keep the faith boys, we'll get there!!

Just have grin and bear it in the mean time, but I'm hoping for this as my Christmas present.

No I don't believe we have. The difference is the mentality of the fans. Scum fans only see the good that their players do. They never see a bad pass, everything is clapped and applauded. Their attitude towards their players is that they are world class, they must be they play for mu. They genuinely believe that they are the biggest club in the world. It may appear dellusional, I don't know, but even before football started and they weren't successful they still believed that they were the best. In my eyes the air disaster gave them immortality and firmly entrenched them in footballing folklore. The club became a legend, a phoenix that rose out of the ashes (no pun intended). The marketing side of their club has been in hyperdrive for years churning out everything mu, so that even card shops in Berwick Upon Tweed. This perpetuates the myth that they are the biggest club in the world.
City fans however for as long as i can remember have always slagged the players, managers and board off. Our glass is always half empty.
There are now a lot of City "fans" who think that the money is the bee all and end all to winning the title, it is not. It is a small part in a larger jigsaw. Of course it helps, but without first class facilities for both players and fans, without a first class pitch and without an improved infrastructure then the team is not going to perform.
It is about time some "fans" sat back and looked where we were 5 years ago both on the pitch and financially. Everywhere I look around the club it has been improved. Look at the CityStore, do you remember what the shop was like at Maine Road? There is no comparison.
We have to be very patient and trust the owners. They have proved that they are here long term and I think that Roberto will be given a good run at being our manager. Some of the comments being made about him could have been cut abd pasted from posts about mark Hughes. The owners want success but I think that they know it wil not happen over night.
We have posibly te finest squad of players ever at the moment, we have the strongest squad in the league. What we don't have at the moment is the strongest team. That WILL come.
After all that, if I am honest if we were back in league 2 whatever it was called I would still be going supporting the team I love.

Agree with most comments in this thread. City players just went out and played with exact mentality and tactic as the day we beat Chelsea, but the only difference was we couldn't nicked a goal due to the superb performance by United's defence, especially Vidic who did shut Tevez and all of our other attacking players out all night. We could say the same for our defence as well, so a draw was a fair result imo.

a few actually are getting there but its hard to blame when days before a match some start to spout about us winning comfortably. Then we have the occasionally we can win the next so and so games in a row just because we are against supposed midtable or relegation teams. though this has been happening since last season.

I say, one game at a time. The best manager is the one who's currently in the helm. And not all of our tactics in our book trump others. We win some we lose some. Difference is now we are winning more and losing less.

Unfortunately, with the quality of players and the brighter future MCFC are going to have, a few fans have 'decided' that they can now match the squads of the other OldTopFour, don't need to put up with the crap and dish out some of their own, and it comes across as arrogance.

But some folk are arrogant to start with!

I don't expect us to win every week. I expect us to try to win every week though.

This is what a lot of people on here appear to be too thick to realise.

When you have £325m of talent at your disposal, I think it's only fair and reasonable that we should set up our side to ask questions of the opposition rather than to counteract questions posed by Wolves or Wigan.

This is not arrogance, it's ambition!

The hardcore of pretty much every teams fans are not particularly different.

Loyal, passionate, a bit one eyed and desperate to see their team win.

No real difference between any of us, what we are probably seeing is some of the drifting fans and these people do exist, drifting our way, that plus new fans and there you have what the o/p talks about.

I saw 6 coaches, thats right six full of Blackpool blues the other night. I know we've always had a following from the coast, I know some of them personally and they're great lads but I don't think I've ever seen more than a coachload, two at a push.

So no, we're not changing at all, we're just being swelled with new fans who are more customers that demand their moneys worth rather than supporters.

Fuck all you can do about it, no point worrying about it either, accept that its part of being a successful club
