have we ever had it so hard

Look at it like this.

We can draw almost anyone, and have a terrific chance of going through. United, Porto and Liverpool included.

In 1999 could we say the same?

Yes, we've had it MUCH harder.

^^^^This^^^^
It's a mark of how far we come, when in 1999, there was that infamous evening when the rags played Porto and we played Port Vale.......
Now we are playing Porto on the same night as the rags are playing a cleaning detergant.....

Could be worst ... we could have all the "better" teams at the end ... look at CC ... SF should be tougher than Finals ... it will be nice to sit back with a drink and enjoy the care free games for the cups aginst the "lesser" teams.

We've never had it so hard? More like we've never had it so good.
The players we have, the management (most of the time) it allows us to compete on all fronts, at all levels.

It's all about the occasions. Rome wasn't built in a day..and all that.
In our worst days, who'd have ever thought we'd be on our way to Portugal to play in a European competition. Ya we were knocked out of the CL. But you learn from your mistakes and experiences. Try again, fail again, fail better. How are we ever supposed to appreciate anything if we get it right the first time. There's still a part of me that thinks, is this really little old City. Those days are gone..world domination and all that.

It'll take time, but we should enjoy the experiences along the way. The journeys always the best part anyway.
I'd rather be on the plane, with a couple other hundred fans going to see Porto away, than on my way to a nice easy draw against Wolves in the FA Cup.

It's about the experiences.
To be the best, you have to beat the best..and even if we couldn't..I'd still say give me Barca in Nou Camp tomorrow.

Great times we live in. Oh to be a City fan.

A lot of the reason why we are getting some tougher draws is because we are better.
We entered the Carling cup one round later than usual because we are in Europe, this means lots of the weaker teams ae already eliminated .
We were a third pot team in CL, this means we are likely to be in a tough group because of our strength. Bayern were about average for an overseas pot 1 Villareal a bit weak for pot 2 and Napoli a bit strong.
In the Europa cup we have avoided tough Italian competitition and tough trips to Russia what we are left with is probably about average.
A tough draw inthe FA cup but the rags are probably thinking the same.
No complaints about our cup draws.

The premier league I am a bit more suspicious about, Two year ago Ferguson complained bitterly about a few matches away after European nights and got a Utd observer onthe draw. As we automatically play opposite Utd's fixtures I do find it a bit much that we now have every matcha away following European nights after Ferguson complained.

And after all that we are top of the league, we've played the top 6 all away from home apart from Arsenal which is this weekend obviously.

Look at the positives and not the conspiracy theories, it's getting boring!

Have we ever been better equipped to deal with it?
And look at it from the viewpoint of the opposition: "Oh no, not City... shit, that's it for the cup this year then".

with the big games there is less chance of complacency, imo the only team that will stop us winning the cc,the fa cup,the prem and the euro league is ourselves,ie injuries and suspensions,as long as bobby keeps resting players in the right way and we get a couple of new faces in jan we will be fine.

that isnt me being arrogant, but i genuinly believe we have the best squad in the league, this is another big season for us,however next season imo will be bigger and better.

we have a squad than imo every prem team would want, and with a few additions could destroy the prem next season and go further in the champs league,i want the quadruple next season and then next season after that,i want us to go down as the best and most sucessful team in history, thats not asking too much is it ?

ive paid my dues, ive bled for the blues, ive cried for the blues, ive always been a proud blue, but usually theyve kicked me in the balls or its felt like that, and its time for a little pay back,i want WORLD DOMINATION.

:)
