With all the focus on buying and a significant number already moved on, have we finished selling players this window?

If the latest reports in the press are true then Sinclair is off to West Brom on a season long loan. I would have preferred him to be sold as for me you would only go on loan with a view to giving the player more experience to then come back into the squad for the following season. This tends to be the case with younger more junior players but I don't think that can be said with Sinclair. If city don't want him then I would wait and see who else comes in. For example we could see Everton making a move if Fellini and Baines go to the rags as they will have some monies to invest.

Kola, is he staying or going. We have an understudy in Boyata if he goes on a lot lower wages but is he good enough. Personally I think he'll go but he may become a last minute buy for say juve.

Barry earlier in the window was touted as one who was likely to depart. And my understanding is that if he doesn't sign a 1 year contract extension (not sure if thats paper bollox) then he's available as we would want to get something for him rather than let him go on a free.

Lescott , same as Barry except things may have changed with Nasty getting injured.

I believe these are the only players who could now depart. Thoughts anyone

Boyata an understudy to Kolarov?

Well he's played in pre-season. Yeah he's made some mistakes but Pelle has given him a go. I'm not saying he should be our backup LB and personally wouldn't be unhappy if both went and we bought someone else, but at this point I can't see that happening.

He could probably do a job as our back up CB but he's not a left back.

IMO we have tried to get clubs to make serious bids for Barry but to no avail. Nearest one we have got in respect of Sinclair is a bidding war between Stoke, West Brom, Everton and Newcastle and in looks like none of them have a pot to piss in so it looks like a loan deal to West Brom.

As for Kolorov looks like no one wants to pay the miserly 6m valuation we have put on him so thats a no go.

Boyata seems to have been given a second chance. Kolorov is back up for Clichy, if Boyata can improve he will tide us over for this season.

Next season I would suspect that we witify early doors like last season the targets we want which could include any of the following.

Pants - back up keeper required will be at end of contract.
Lescott - end of contract
Barry - end of contract
Kolorov - one year left on contract
Boyata if he doesn't come up to proof - end of contract.
Garcia - will have 2 years left on contract.

As for incoming Rekik will be back from a seasons loan and depending on how he does he could be the ideal replacement for Lescott.

Only defenders therefore we will have on the books next season therefore will be

Zab, Richards, Kompany, Nastisic and Clichy. IMO that will mean we will need

Back up keeper. Right footed centre back, left footed centre back/Rekik and back up left back. Another midfield player to either replace Barry and or Garcia.

Completely agree with this, would be nice though if we could get in a CB this window.

LB is far more important IMO. We don't have a complete LB. We really need one if we want to compete at the very top. Neither Clichy nor Kolarov are the answer.

Not many left backs out there better than Clichy. I'd say Alaba, Cole, Coentrao are better and that's it.

Definitely think we need one more centre back, but it's good we've kept Joleon after he was rumoured to be on the way. He's still a decent player and pretty good for games against the likes of Stoke and Sunderland.

As for a left back, as NoahCity says Clichy is one of the best around. But we do need back up as Kolorov can't defend. Or pass. Or run very fast. Or mark people. Anyway, doesn't look like we're in the market for a LB so I guess we'll have to hope Clichy stays fit all season and doesn't get any red cards!
