Donnarumma looks like he has given a few a wake up call, tonight we looked like we wouldn't be bullied

the spine of our team needs to be

Donnarumma

Diaz or Stones

Foden
Rodri
Silva

Haarland

Every one of them would get in Liverpool and Arsenals starting 11 IMO!

All SEVEN of them are treble winners and all are captains! That experience and attitude is exactly what united had in the early 2000's under Ferguson! if the above players want it like they did tonight, the rest of the squad will give everything they have to be part of it, and raise their game!

If we carry on wanting it like we did tonight, teams will soon be scared of playing us again, and be beat before they step foot on the pitch! just like in 2023!

Foden was born to do this, David Silva was his teacher!

It looks like it. They all look like better players. We do look more solid. And it’s just a great feeling to have some confidence that your keeper might save the shots.

I liked the derby, it felt a bit chaotic, but it was a good watch. And tonight, we didn’t just got sideways, we took shots from outside the box, tried to slide it through, maybe inside runs, outside runs. So much better than the last 2 years.

Still a bit off but I see where u r coming from. I think the team/squad will grow and gel over the next 2 months with games every 3 days. Rejniders has been good but when he settles he's gonna be another level

Let's not get too giddy

It's looking a lot healthier but we've just beaten a poor United and overcome a stubborn but limited Napoli, assisted by their early red card.

Regardless of the results our last two performances at Arsenal have been subdued. Let's see how we perform on Sunday
So if we dont win at arsenal then we can take no positives, this is what drives me crazy and its the way the press has conditioned our fans to think, when city win its because the other team were poor, when city lose its because the other team is amazing AND because city were poor so whatever way it shakes out city aint very good.

You saw it in the way it was commentated last nite, all in the build up it was how napoli had lost 1 in 25 games, italian champions, tough to beat, incredibly well drilled, rejuvanated kdb etc etc and then the game transpired they had a man sent off due to our good play and then u heard tells us nothing bout city, theyll have much tougher tests than this etc etc, so we couldnt win either way.

Now we may win at arsenal we mite not but we can be positive when we do well and see positive change rather than buying into the negative press driven narrative and waiting for the next reason to have a pop at us.

Too early to tell, but after Gunners we should have a fairly good idea. I love that Gigi is quite far out in the penalty area commanding which I believe helps Josko and Dias. Dias looks a lot better with him in goal.

I have a feeling that Eddie’s complacency and the goalkeeper situation might have been a much bigger issue than we thought it was.

Diaz?

Haarland?

Is this like Pro Evolution Soccer on the PlayStation where they didn't have the official licences so went with "nearly but not quite" names so no rules were broken but we know who they are supposed to be?

If we have a spine of Donnarumma, Gvardiol, Dias, Rodri, Foden, Haaland, not many in Europe are of a similar level. The trick is building around that and we still have work to do on that front, with the full back and wing areas still the ones to look at.

The difference between the commentary on our game and the other English teams in Europe this week was unbelievable.
TNT acted like a patriotic station for Arsenal Chelsea and the dippers then sounded wounded giving us any praise last night.
Missus said to me "why do they hate us so much?" I said "because that's the way the yanks want it and the English media willingly oblige'.

Doku looks like hes starting to get it

He's certainly had a good couple of games, for sure. Can he keep that up consistently and against stronger opposition? We can only hope so at the moment. He's definitely got the tools to make it.
he does, its just looks like he is starting to understand whats being asked of him, i think allowing him to wander is helping him as well as he looks v dangerous coming into the middle.

The wing areas aren't a problem. In Doku, Bobb and Savinho we have 3 of the top 10 U23 wide attackers in the world. They can only get better. Marmoush is a very good option as well. And Bernardo is needed as a midfielder on the right side who helps us to accommodate Foden at 10 in big games.

As mad as it sounds, I don’t think we played brilliantly against United. We conceded too many chances and were lucky that they are absolutely shite. We were good to create more chances ourselves - but an absolute mile off how controlled we were in 22/23.

Last night was significantly better, but clearly supported by the early red card.

I don’t think we should be getting giddy after two games. Arsenal will be a real test on Sunday (sorry to be negative, just an honest view).

I would not describe Napoli as stubborn but limited.

The last 2 home games have been encouraging. There's no denying that. I am expecting a very difficult game at Arsenal.

Where do you get the rejuvenated KDB from? He's 1 year older. He barely touched the ball whilst he was on. I do get the point that we should take encouragement where we find it.
