Have you bought a poppy this year?

4, two for me for both my City jackets, and one each for me mum and dad. I got em from college, there sellin em in the main entrance, though the box is practically full. None of the teachers are wearin em and only about 3 per cent of the students are. I suppose it doesnt help when about 55 per cent of the college is black/asian/muslim.

So that doesnt stop them, I went into the trafford centre this week for some new astro trains in sports direct or whatever its changed its name to this week and 2 of the asian lads who work there had poppys on.

Lol, you're the most obvious BNP voter on this site.

Not at all mat im being serious. Im here in one of the areas of the college with a couple of mates, theres about 30 people in the area atm, and at least 25 are non white. As i look out the window, the non white to white ratio is probably 7/1.

There aint half some ignorant bigoted and racist shite posted on this forum sometimes......being black didn`t stop Johnson Beharry from winning the Victoria Cross

Yes two- and two crisp notes placed in the pot. If you don't (like Jon Snow) you're a crow.

Yes,and I always will.
Despite being poles apart from this poster politically, this is one issue on which I agree completely.
Whether or not you agree with the ethics or morality of a given conflict, those who pay the ultimate sacrifice warrant my respect and,(whilst I would never criticise those who choose not to wear one,as is their right),I feel that it is the least I owe those who fought and died so that I don't have to.

I find it difficult to make that distinction tbh. I find it virtually impossible to respect someone who contributes to something I view as abhorrent. I feel bad for them when they die, as I see it as a wasted life, and many of them have no choice but to join up (for economical reasons and others) but that's all I can muster.
WW2 is another matter. That was a just war and a correct action and is the only reason why I wear a poppy. If it was not for WW2 I'd not wear one, tho I'd still donate some money for those families left fatherless.
