If it was the same one I saw (outside weatherspoons in piccadilly) it looked good but wasn't anything like 1:1 size was it?

Decent replica I thought.

Wow yeah I was wrong, that's not the one I saw. That looks the bees knees, where's he got that from?

No idea mate does anyone know where you would even get replica trophies from?

Been down this morning to have my mugshot done .

The waiting time in the queue was about twenty minutes .

£10 I think is well worth it just to get to kiss the trophy

This is a picture I took of the print on my Blackberry so I could put it on Facebook , I will scan it properly so I can keep it safe digitally .

Got down today at 4.20 and queue goes outside at back of shop and across to the tram station. Just been told though that they are cutting the quote at 5.30 and anyone in it at that point will get chance of a photo. Not in the queue at that point and you've had it. Fair play to City though as they could have said last photo at 5.30 but they are obviously carrying on later tonight because of the match being on.

-- Thu May 17, 2012 4:52 pm --

Got down today at 4.20 and queue goes outside at back of shop and across to the tram station. there is a green stripe that goes round the bottom of the trophy stand this becomes apart of the background so makes it look like you have actually lifted the trophy of its stand

someone posted this pic on page 1, but the trophy is right at the bottom of the pic it doesn't look lifted (does it vary then depending on background chosen?). The base is hovering mid air on this pic ;)
Still wish they'd just use a real normal background and not the green screen malarky!

i cant say about it varying by background (but i should imagine its on all the backgrounds as its the green stripe on the trophy and green background), but thats exactly how it looks on the picture you have linked to, So if you get your hands on the trophy correctly it does make it look like you have lifted it off the stand

Got ours today after queuing for 2 bloody hours. But well done to City for keeping it going later than advertised.

Thing is the two green strips on the bottom of the trophy DON'T make it look like ypu are lifting it. The bottom of the two might but then there is the 2nd above it which makes it look completely naff. The one of the guy with the dressing room background isn't bad because it's black on that but if you have a pitch background it looks like you've got grass running through the bottom of it. Never mind though we manged to get our own snaps that look better than the backgrounds.

Agree about the 2 stripes thing, it just looks weird and makes the picture look fake.

But did you get to use your own camera too though? That's great! Someone on here said it wasn't allowed, so did you do it incognito or were they cool about it?

As much as i'd rather have a real photo with a normal background without the stupid green screen stuff, i might have it done this time when they have the cup back in - as i regretted not bothering to do the fa cup (i didn't bother for all the reason in my first post! They way later in the season when the cup is not even there they will let people pay for a pic and put the cup on the green screen just makes a mockery of the real photos people get - as its hard to tell who is actually with the cup and who isnt! Daft eh!)

Oh and is the trophy on a really really high platform or are most of the people pictured here with it really short (no offense meant!)?

The platform the cup is on is quite high. Just compared the pics with the FA Cup ones and can tell that was definitely on a lower platform. I'm nearly 6ft and the top of the trophy is level with the top of my head. Bit naff for pics with young kids.

Yeah I'd heard pics with your own camera or phone weren't allowed but thought I'd try it and by the time I'd taken one it would be too late to stop me. To be honest they didn't take issue with it but I think they would if you weren't buying one of theirs and spending the £10 or £20 anyway. The other thing was with the queue being massive I don't think they wanted people taking too long but when we got ot the front there was a backlog of people choosing their backgrounds so we had to wait for my son's photo to be taken. So gave me plenty of time getting my own snaps.

Only went today because my son was pleading with me and we were doing the EDS game anyway. Personally hoping they put it in as part of the tour like with the FA Cup last year. Best pics I've got are on the tour with the cup against a normal natural backdrop. Either way it felt worth it just to get my hands on it now it's ours. Got a pic years ago at a Barclays event but had nasty red, black and white ribbons then.

I did something similar to this ( without taking a pic )

Before my picture was taken I put both my arms round the trophy and gave it a massive bear hug , The security guy almost had a fit when he seen that .

I was also given the chance to have a picture taken in 1998 when Arsenal were the holders , The people at the time refused to remove the red ribbons for the picture so I told em to shove it .
