Haydock Park - Pub Breakfast Help

Hello all,

Just looking into booking my bro's stag doo and he fancies the races. Doesn't want to travel too far so looks like it will be Haydock. For anyone that has been before, can you recommend any pubs on the way that i could book out for a breakfast?

Also, is it best to head straight for Haydock or nip into St Helens and then travel upto the course later on?

Cheers,

MM

lol...half of guide bridge will be at haydock then....my mate just rang today saying theres about 25 of us going to haydock for a stag do.....most from west end of ashton

we have booked a deal with the old rectory...we get brekky @ 9am, coach transfer to haydock & back to old rectory...double room for night and brekky next morning....£100 each

if you want chester races mate, first one is begining of may, wed/thur/fri with thursday being ladies day, think tatts, county stand are sold out, but can pay to go on the dee stands, if want tatts easily pick up passes off the touts at bottom of watergate st which is where entrances to the course are situated, if you give the first race a miss, touts will flog them face value just to get rid, if need hotel/b&b, loads of them on way into city also travel lodge now in city centre

When going to haydock we use The Farmers Arms Swinton. Do a great brekkie and it is off the east lancs so you are only about 20 mins away from Haydock park

Been in the Farmers many times on the way to Haydock. The breakfast is a fine old feed and the Black Sheep is spot on. First pint at 9.30 am!

the pubs on newton-le-willows high st that serve food are the blue lion, the pied bull and the oak tree and are about 2 miles from haydock park.

ashton in makerfield is within walking distance to the racecourse and there are plenty of pubs on the main street with a wetherspoons aswell.

ashton is usually busy after the races aswell but you have got the option of wigan, st helens and warrington

Try the Traveller's Rest/Inn nr Newton Lowton area, great food and only 2 mins of the East Lancs Road and 10 mins from Haydock

Says this has closed mate, has it reopened with new owners, have you been in lately?
