I also thought Robino was a great signing too - top scorer in a season of relative turmoil.
Then again, maybe I'm a bit mad too

-- Sun Mar 20, 2011 10:38 am --

ABOVE: Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli Mario Balotelli must be sold this summer.

MANCUNIANS have a word for people like Mario Balotelli: Barmpot.
It means a slightly deranged person.
I had doubts about the Italian’s mental stability before Man City’s Europa League tie with Dynamo Kiev when he needed assistance to put a bib over his head. Not once but twice.
The kid looked like he was trying to escape from a straitjacket. It certainly would have been more appropriate.
Balotelli’s single-figure IQ was confirmed minutes later when he kung-fu kicked some Ukranian player for no apparent reason and was sent off.
The crazy Eric Cantona impression there and then killed off City’s hopes of winning the Europa League.
But his crazy act of studs-up stupidity could have an upside.
It may have finally convinced Roberto Mancini that the gamble has failed: Mario the moron must be sold this summer.
Balotelli – a £24million signing by Mancini from his old club Inter Milan in the summer – is a misfit maverick with little interest in his club, colleagues or fans.
Forget his ten goals in 18 games. Javier Hernandez across the city has notched 16 in 33, cost a quarter of the price and doesn’t drop-kick opposing players.
Mad Mario’s fought with a team-mate in training, claimed he was allergic to grass, worn the stupidest hat ever, refused to smile when scoring and picked up two reds and eight yellows. Balotelli is a huge AC Milan fan and clearly doesn’t want to be in Manchester.
It’s a toss-up who is the worst City signing: Robinho or him?
Jose Mourinho gave up on Balotelli when he was in charge at the San Siro.
Mancini should do the same.
Give Balotelli the bullet – Bobby Manc would be a barmpot not too.
