small length of plastic which folds around the inner ear and secures the cone in place. Does she have this ? Hello, testing one two.
Next time, ask for an old fashioned mould job. Never in over ten years of wearing them have they fallen out. I wear over ear type. Free from NHS.Now we’re getting somewhere. Her hearing aids have dome shaped inserts rather than made to measure moulds and these come in different sizes. It seems one ear (they were done at different times) has a bigger insert and has always felt less secure and this is the one she loses. Constant taking masks on and off, not to mention glasses and sunglasses must lead to some risk of dislodging them but the answers would appear to be that when she goes for a replacement she asks for a little care in the selection of the size of the bit that goes in her ear.
Thanks Wally, you’ve helped us figure it out in a roundabout way. Think we’ll still try daffodils in the back pocket as well though for extra security
Good old fashioned blow job,Next time, ask for an old fashioned mould job. Never in over ten years of wearing them have they fallen out. I wear over ear type. Free from NHS.
Suspect this dome business is an attempt to save NHS money.
Alternatively she could try buds.
Deafness, incidently, sometimes makes it hard to monitor the volume of your own voice, so APOLOGIES FOR SHOUTING.
I love it when you talk dirtyIf the hearing aid falls off, it may be loose or moist and can slip out. It is easier to turn to an audiologist for re-adjustment than buying a new device every time.
They certainly help. I used to have to repeat everything 10 times to my mum when she had the NHS ones. Now I only have to do it twice. What is the big difference between those NHS free hearing aids and the ones which cost 2000-3000 (and even 5000). Do they help completely deaf people to hear again?
Phonak Audeo M.Thanks a lot. What kind of aids does she have? I hope you don't mind to share. We are looking for a pair for my mom now and i am trying to understand if it is necessary to spend a fortune or the cheaper version work just fine too.
