Heart of Midlothian FC Thread

You obviously haven't bothered reading the thread properly
No Hearts fans on here is saying or thinks we are better than you
At this time Hearts are the better team. We all know , well those that actually know Scottish football do, that there is a long few months ahead of hearts and if they are still there or thereabouts come March then they are serious contenders

Doesn’t mean you have to stop dreaming the dream. May 2026 will be the 40th anniversary of that fateful day at Dens.

Thought you handled the occasion really well. Think it's easy to do a fast start at home at Tynecastle, but when Celtic get the equaliser and start to control the game a bit, you didn't panic and still made sure to not concede again while still offering a threat.

Once you scored the 2nd, there was always 1 winner for me, and you could have even scored 1 or 2 more.

As others have said, the hard part is to stay consistent through the winter months, but the good thing for you guys is this doesn't look like the same Celtic of the last couple of years, and with their best defender out injured for months, they could be even more vulnerable.

I know. I was saying you would need to be delusional. Not that you are. We could, very easily, crumble into a total farce, that's well within our capabilities. It's a hard call. I think we will claw it back, but, that could be me deluding myself. Just need to wait and see. Not looking forward to it.

I did say if you lose to the Jambos and then we beat you on Sunday there is a great chance of an implosion. We will see and on the flip side a convincing Old Firm win could set you off on an unbeaten run

Of course Jimbo likes this post hahaha

Time will tell
More agree than like. But, seeing as there's no "agree" button, I had to go with "like". I've made no secret of my wish that a non old firm side win the title. I see no reason to change my view on that. Bar one season, it's been a one club procession for, what, around 15 years now? That does no one any good. Not even Celtic. Ignoring the obvious collection of silverware, it hasn't helped them in their efforts to make an impression in Europe. As to whether it will actually happen this season or not; as you said, time will tell. No medals are handed out in october (something Arsenal fans on social media would do well to remember).

This is their wee safety blanket. It hasn’t hampered Rangers progress in Europe. At the start of this season Brugge , Porto Benfica and one other I can’t remember are the only clubs ranked above Rangers outwith the Top 5 leagues

This post took me back to Rangers first game at Ibrox after starting back in the 4th tier. We played Berwick Rangers or East Fife in a non season ticket game and people were predicting 5000 to 10000 tops. Chris Hoy was going for gold at the olympics that dinner time and I remember holding back to watch him (he won) then jumping in car and driving up to Ibrox (almost tears in my eyes writing this) … the sight of tens of thousands of fellow Rangers fans queuing down Edmiston drive and kick off held up. The atmosphere and togetherness that night was as special as that glorious Thursday night a few short years later that saw us defeat Red Bull Leipzig and reach the Europa League. Days and nights like these make all the suffering worthwhile and only true supporters get to experience it

All the best for the rest of the season.

Absolutely both possible. I think you will beat us on Sunday. Welk I did until Rogers left. Not so sure now. :)

Just woke up to find out Rogers has chucked it. Have to be honest, I didn't see it coming, but, its the smart move for him. He would have been sacked if he lost to Rangers on Sunday. Eight points adrift of Hearts and potentially losing to Rangers in a semi, was untenable.

I was one of the very few who didn't care he left the first time and understood why he left. It's all on here. I said, "the problem isn't Rogers leaving, its Lawell staying."
.
Again, the problem isnt Rogers leaving, its the same board staying. They are the common denominator for our failure to move up, consolidate, then move up another wee bit, year on year. We always get better. Look good, sell our best, replace with lesser players, then start the climb again. This is a tried and tested model for remaining on the same level.

We have resources but no will to improve recruitment to a level nearer thise of the Brugges etc al. Similar size clubs in resources to us and our pals, but we both spectacularly fuck up recruitment. Its not bad luck, its a complete lack of intelligent, thought out, management.

The Tash letter, was clear in showing two things about our board.
1. They pass off the failures of the club on him. No reslonsibility taken.
2. If they felt that way, then they are total cowards for not dealing with it earlier.

I'm happy he has gone. But, the root cause of all our cyclical trajectory, is their bag. If they think they have moved out of the Crosshairs of our rifles, they havent a fucking clue.

Good luck to MON, let's reign those bastards in Martin. And the Tash?

You are now hopefully exposed, even to our happy fucking clappers, what a total hoor of a **** you are. For that, and that alone, I thank you.

I thought we would as well. It’s telling that I am gutted he’s gone as it’s been obvious he’s been wanting out. Trusty on the bench at the weekend was unforgivable while an untried youngster is having an absolute shocker

All the excuses and waffle doesnt change the undeniable fact that Celtic had more than enough to reach the Champions league against the lowest ranked team ever to beat an Old Firm side! That’s down to Wee Gucci belt

I bet Hearts can’t believe their luck with the shit show that’s going on at Rangers and Celtic. Good luck to them

I think the issue is that, no matter how bad Celtic and Rangers currently are, they have the potential with a decent manager and a bit of confidence to start hoovering up points and the pressure then grows. Add in the ability to pump a few million in in January to strengthen key places and to guarantee a CL spot, which Hearts dont have and it can turn around really quickly.

On that basis, I think we need about 8 points to guarantee staying up this season, and we'll see where we go from there.
