Hello from Copenhagen. FCK vs City

Has the ground changed a lot since 1970-71 when City last played there?

That would be a yes. The old ground is gone. Parken stadium as it looks today was completed in 1992. The last remaining stand of the old ground (d-stand) has been demolished to make room for at new modern stand, which should be completed sometime in the summer '09. That's also why the capacity at the moment is only 34.000.

PSG does it as well. The biggest FCK ultras group called Urban Crew are good friends with an equivalent PSG group. That's why we share several chants and this dance.

Hello lads.

I've started this topic for you. Since i live in Copenhagen and hold a season ticket for FC Copenhagen i figured i could answer some of your questions about the City of Copenhagen, our team, the stadium, transport etc.

But mainly to discuss the game.

Looking forward to see you lads in Copenhagen.

where does your firm drink?
got any good brass houses?

We do have a pub we usually go to, but it's tiny and far from the stadium. But there are plenty of good options for you lads.
Again i'll recommend "The Dubliner"...
Sorry, my english is short here. What's a brass house? My dictionary says that brass, among others, are another word for whore? I don't suppose that's what you ment?

Good Post. If we start drinkng in a city centre pub when it gets closer to the match would it be good to go drinking at McGraths nearer the stadium or would that not be a good idea with it being full of FC copenhagen fans. Plus a few of us are over for three days do you suggest any pubs we should visit. Any info would be much appreciated.

To all blues where are people drinking on the wednesday night?

Greetings form Cph

Actually "Copenhagen is becoming one of Europe´s top beer-drinking destinations"... This is good reading: http://www.ratebeer.com/Story.asp?StoryID=567. Lord Nelson at Hyskenstraede 10 (next to Stroeget in the city centre) always got 14 danish micros at reasonable prices. The beers at some of the places mentioned in the link will cost you an extra penny, but it is (very) strong stuff! Also, if you don't feel like going to sleep, Hong Kong at Nyhavn doesn't close at all...

I'll recommend:

-Charlie's Bar (Pilestræde 33) in the city center and pedestrian shopping area. The bar has recieved the English beer award Cask Marque, and offers a wide selection of quality beer. You should check that out. It's not a very big place though.

-The Shamrock Inn (Jernbanegade) right next to "Cirkusbygningen" and close to the townhall square and Tivoli. It's the oldest irish pub in Copenhagen. It's got great beers, great atmophere and most of the bar staff is english or irish. It's a decent sized pub and can host about 150 people. I come there a lot and would highly recommend it!

-Pub & Sport (Vester Voldgade 7-9) Close to the Townhall Square. It's a big pub with a lot of tv's. It's gost 7 pool tables and several dartboards.

-The Dubliner (Amagertorv 5, Strøget) Big pub in smack center facing A big square and the big pedestrian shopping walk called Strøget. It's a great place for large groups and usually lots of European football fans drink here when they're in the city. The entire atmosphere and the surroundings are perfect for a bunch of football fans...

There are lots of other places, but you can discover them on your own :)

well done on your posts jesper,a lot of very clear and useful information, are you ready to face kaka?

Least i could do...

Our defense would be 4 bambis on ice if we were to face both Kaká an Robinho. Luckily that's impossible since Kaká has already played UEFA-cup for Milan this season, which means he can't play UEFA-cup for you as well...
