Hello from Copenhagen. FCK vs City

I have really enjoyed reading this thread, thanks for all the info Jesp cant wait to get over there now. This will be of no interest to the majority of the posters on here but are there a good choice of restaurants in Copenhagen and are they at reasonable prices?? Me and my missus are coming over for 2 nites and since it is so close to valentines day (please dont slate me) she has come up wth the amazing idea that we will go for a meal on the Friday nite. As I have heard the price of beer is around £6-£8 a pint, im a little worried about my bank balance after this lovely, romantic nite with my high maintenance missus.

any help appriciated

whats the best lager in copenhagen? do they also sell strongbow cider? 3 of us there for 3 days

That's a tough one mate... There are about 125 diffirent breweries in DK. The biggest one obviously is Carlsberg. It really depends on what you like. Most pubs and bars have loads of foreign lagers as well.
I'm sure you can find Strongbow in most of the british pubs. I know for sure that several of them sell Magners or Bulmers, which as far as i remember are pretty similar in taste. Maybe a bit sweeter...

Hello Jesper

Do you Know of a pub called the Irish Rover, I believe its quite close to the Dubliner. There is an english lad from prestwich working there and am waiting for an email with some details. he says the owner will drop the price of beer by half if we can get loads of blues in there. It works out about £3/3.50 a pint. Is that a good price by Copenhagen standards. I know a lot of the reds I know have been in on their travels and say its a good crack.

I went to the game in Herning, stayed in Silkeborg. Was pretty surprised after all the stories about the beer being so expensive, that there were a lot of places selling beer at about the same as in the UK. To be fair, at that time we were getting 9.6 Krona to the pound, think now its about 7.5. So will be more expensive now.

I have also heard of a student bar called the Moose, where they have lots of deals for cheap beer. Any info on that and where it is in relation to the main drag. Cheers

£3 a pint is a great price in central Cph.

Herning and Silkeborg are towns located in the middle of Jutland. To anyone from Copenhagen it's just no mans land.
You have to keep in mind that those places are quite small compared to copenhagen and most importently Copenhagen is that capital. Both financially and turist wise which unfortunately have a habit of knocking the prices skywards...

The Moose is a wicked place, especially for us students without dosh. On the good nights a pint of Carlsberg are £2 each.
Don't get your hopes up on that one though. The place is narrow as hell, very tiny and doesn't work for large groups. Besides, it's always packed on thursdays and fridays... If you insist on going there the adress is: Sværtegade 5. smack center...

Here's a few links. You can always google copenhagen restaurant guide... a pint really doesn't have to cost that much. Plenty of places sell a pint for £4-5... Restaurants however can be an expensive experince....
