They will be one of 5 or 6 teams challenging for the prem and top 4 every season rather than being the dominant team every year. Their period of hegemony on the field has come and gone.

That I agree with (although I may cut that down to 4 from 5 or 6 as, I only really see us, Chelsea and United being regulars, with 1 of Liverpool/Arsenal being there, but not both).

Think arsenal will be there for years to come now they have the money to invest can see them in 2 years time being very strong as for the rags it could take them 4 or 5 seasons to get together a squad capable of challenging on all fronts thats how long it took us and if you look at there current squad there's only really januzia and the keeper to build the team around.

Yep, City, Chelsea and Arsenal fighting it out for the top 3 positions with United having to scrap it out with Liverpool for the 4th spot and the likes of Spurs and Everton at least giving them a run for their money.

The starting United team cost more than the starting City team in one of the swamp derbies but when you mention spending, they only spend what they earn.
They have, however been known to,
Break the record for a goalkeeper with De Gea
Break the record for a teenager with Shrek
Break the record for a defender with Rio
Break the record for an attacker with Cole
Break the record for an Argie with Veron
and broke their own record TWICE last season with Fellaini & Mata.

Despite having debts somewhere around the £380m mark.

have to admit i thought the blue moon number crunchers would be all over this a long time ago but as far as i know city have started with the more expensive side just once mancinis first derby 163million city 159million united a nil nil dull game and the press ripped us apart for it but the clue is in the fact they have never stated the cost of citys starting 11 in a derby before or since
