My audi a5 seems to have no fans working..on a serious note, what can the problems be?..cheers in advance ..

If it's not a fuse it will just usually be the heater regulator. Should be able to pick one up for about £50 if you know someone who can fit it.

Probably fuses but finding them is another matter. What happened to the good old days when you could dig out the Haynes manual and fix a motor yourself.
They were the days when you had to fix your car every week

Luckily engineering skills went up since then

there r 5 or 6 small terminals on the front of your battery /not ur pos and neg there on the top try middle one might have come lose speaking from experiance but with diffrent model good luck mate my new fan cost me 200 notes from dealers dont buy cheap parts for an audi its a false economy.

common fault on the A5's - it fucked. Shagged beyond repair.
Best I can give you is £500 for it.

Year if it's a Diesel S-Line with Leather interior then I have to agree.. It's a complete bag of shite and needs to be taken off the road!

Although £500 is a little low I'd stretch to £650 at a push!

Honkyton, he obviously ain't impressed!

Going Hammers game this week?

Did you check the coolant level? May sound silly but if the fan works of a negative temperature coefficient sensor it will be positioned relatively high up on the radiator and if the coolant level is low it's unable to read the temerature of the fluid, and unable to earth the relay to switch the fan on.
If it's read from an engine sensor and switched on by the onboard CPU (the cars brain) then that sensor has failed.
You also could check the mechanical thermostat (it'll be mounted probably to the rear upper side of the engine and easily recognised by having at least two coolant pipes running into it) That'll require you to drain coolant, not that hard.
Put the thermostat into boiling water. If it opens it's working, if it fails to open it needs replaced.
These are the easiest options, and the fault should be repairable by and half decent garage instead of an Audi dealer.
If it's an electrical issue use an auto spark.
Good luck.
