help please with laptop problem

When I start up my laptop it says bad configuration, press f1 for default or f12 for setup, if i press f1 it starts but after I turn it off and then on again it sometimes doesn't start. Anyone know whats wrong with it? in basic computer speak please.

Can you do a system restore? (accessories/system tools/system restore - restore to a date when you know it was working fine)

Seen this before, I think, as daft as it sounds, it's a duff BIOS battery, and your PC may be forgetting its settings. But reseting defaults may work as already suggested. Does it lose the time after reboot?

After a time, when a Moderator saw youre writing quality Posts, then he just clicks on your Head and you then you can post new Topics.
